depends what you're after. Glastonbury is the most well know, but it has become incredibly commerciallised and hard to get into. unless you can get work there and get in for free i wouldnt even recommend it any more.

beautiful days is a lovely smaller festival with a friendly atmosphere. alot less mainstream.

Reading/Leeds weekend is another commercialised event that has alot of well known groups (metal/rock etc) but the atmosphere always seems to me to be a little more agressive.

there are small festivals scattered all over the country during the summer. some folk festivals are excellent coz they are so uncommercialised. towersey is apparently very good, though on the same weekend as beautiful days AND reading/leeds.

theres a very small festival each year near me called music on the hill. its a really chilled event with a stage, a fairground a few alternative stalls, a few food places and thats it. nothing at rip off prices either.

the most comprehensive guide you can buy is festival eye magazine. has loads of festivals in it, but keep your ear to the ground aswell, coz smaller local festivals can be just as good as the big ones.

    peace and love

Actually... FlyFest is being recognised as the ultimate festival to attend these days... just ask the guys on the UK Forum... not that any of them have been... wouldn't want any fucking hippies turning up, would we?...

Glastonbury baby! Biggest party of the year! Beautiful Days is amazing as well, in a different way. Flyfest is good in theory, but like capitalism, it doesn't work. In fact I think it was cancelled each year they tried to run it. Maybe Fly should give up and get himself a Glastonbury ticket instead! Salstock on the other hand, now that's a real festival:p

MikeFest is great! But no one's ever heard of it because it's very small and has only happened once before
