UK Hip Forums Convention

The U.S. seems to have one, and they're putting up posts on the Convention:China (Hipforums) thread, so why not we have one. Of course they'res festivals and the like to join up but we could have our own venue. Any plans, keep us posted!!

 

Well, the festivals are our main meet ups and really always have been. And there's the odd party now and again...

 

Not really true although it may seem that way over the last few years!!

Well we've had many a gathering in the past although they seem to have disappeared over the last year or so (not that I've been around myself so I can't complain!)

Past gatherings have been in various locations such as... On Gile's canal boat in Skipton (where are you know man? still i Spain?), At Jerusalem Farm in Hebden Bridge, In Huddersfield (?) (in my flat in the end cos the weather turned shitty.. try fitting a load a hippies in a box for a weekend... the smell was not good!)

There used to be an annual Yorkshire meet up too, fuck knows what happened to that?

There's also been many gatherings down south expecially at Demo's e.g. anti war etc... Anyone remember the Generator Hostel 3-4 years ago and very stoned Happy Hippy puking all over the bunkbeds??!! A few have been at Faslane Peace Camp in Scotland.

Can anyone remember anymore? My memory's shit but I know we've had bucket loads over the years!! Had lots of piccies of them at one time but my old pc got binned!

Why not arrange one yourself? Post it on the UK Parties and Protests Forum maybe muahahaha!!! Oh we shall rise again and take over the world my friends!! ahahaha

There was a Yorkshire meetup on another place recently, if I'd have thought ahead I'd have mentioned it here. No harm in a double meetup I guess?

 

yeah, a meetup for the UK forum would be groovy. something that doesn't cost £150 per person to get into is much preferred.

 

It would be great if the UK forums could have their very own suggestions box.
Your idea sounds like a good one though.

 

It would be great to actually meet some people form this site, (UK hipforums), although many of you have met already at place like Glastonbury and the festivals on the south coast with open invites for others accessing these pages. Personally it would be interesting to but faces and hear voices for some of the people I have a mental image of! A pre-arranged camp that costs £10 a night somewhere! What about the lakes? For the majority who access this site you couldn't ask for a more magnificant location which would suite your natural disposition; also it wouldn't take me a whole day to get there.

 

That would be the best place I'd say, although it would take me almost a day - but I love travelling so it would be fine by me!

I haven't met anyone from the Uk forum, so it might be nice to meet you!

 

A camp would be pretty cool, we've done that sort of thing before. Also, if you read the Shambala thread, looks like Quoth the Raven's up for hosting a hipforums party in Cambridge....
