This is just pathetic. Germany welcomed ONE MILLION migrants into their country during the Syrian war, and we are up in arms about a few hundred desperate people per year trying to come here for a better life. What a pathetic country we are.

It’s funny that you assume it’s better then go on to basically say all of the people are shit.

Rarely do I ever meet anyone that says “I want to go Canada for a better life.”

Usually attached to obtaining some sort of status.

When the Three Stooges slapstick gets uglier the more money they make, there was nobody home to begin with. In the US the civil rights movement was only tolerated, because the KKK hated the commies even more. As the Berlin Wall fell, they went on a prison building spree and began dismantling all of our constitutional protections. The uglier your politics become, the more fascists will expose who they are and make their political influence undeniable.

 

Whilst I don't have an issue with us (the UK) accepting migrants into the County to meet a need not being fulfilled be UK citizens per se, there are a few other factors to be considered.
Education: Why aren't we fulfilling a need? (Apathy or poor schooling - in either personal desired drive or subject matter awareness - it's seems easier now to 'press a button' than to know how something works)
Funding: With the benefit scheme in chaos and the lack of funding to those who do work being stretched to those who are employed being such, - when more money is being diverted in to a 'family' of 'a' worker of a household, economically where would this money come from?
Security: It is a established fact that some individuals 'speak with forked tongue', and not a star-bangled banner of personal belief and intent. The covert threat of terrorism is real.

You suggested that people leave their home countries with the intent to better their lives.

The next sentence reads “what a pathetic country we are.”

That doesn’t sound like a place where you’d go to better your life.

It’s bizarre reading this kind of stuff as someone that has actually moved to another country and done everything legit.

Everyday Africans and Europeans get arrested for teaching English here because they can’t get a work visa (you need to be from one of 7 specific countries).

If seemingly good, university educated (not that it matters) people are willing to enter the world’s strongest communist regime and attempt to work illegally, I can only fucking imagine what happens back home in rainbow Canada.

I lived in Spain when Franco was still alive and they shot people for being on the beach after 5:00pm. The average Spaniard made a dollar a day, and they joked that Franco introduced them to toilet paper. I've spoken to a guy who never wants to go back to the middle east again, because the sound of them chopping off the hands of thieves everyday in public still haunts them. The world is a horrible nasty place, in fact, it is rapidly dying thanks to all our efforts to make it a better place, because we've never figured out how to make ourselves better people first.

 

I was comparing the UK with Germany, which is also a Western country. Those migrants coming to the UK will be in for a shock when they come here.
