I was transplanting my plant into a bigger pot today, and when I when to trans plnt it I saw 2 roots hanging out of the root ball on the bottom, so I jus transplanted it anywayz and watered it down....now I head disturbed roots will make it die....but 2 roots? could that really be a problem for me?
I'll make my entrance onto the board here chaps. Rootballs............ It'll make no difference whatsoever. When growing indoors some find it ness to re-veg a plant which means taking it through the flower cycle and then re-veg into 18/6+. To do this you attack the root ball without mercey (is best) and re plant. Many other less seemingly destructive root ball croppings are needed but this one shows you how much MJ can take and keep going. In fact, your more likely to have root problems from overwatering in soil than you are from transplanting into whatever pot size. I'm new to your forum but any pictures I use are my own. Feel free download them but no commercial use please. This is not before any rules set out by the moderators of this board so please do adhere. The first pic is when you need to transplant, when they look like this underneath. When you tap the plant out (allways soak the plant first so it comes out whole and not like a crumbling sponge cake) it should look like the second picture which is about as perfect as you can get. I'm not in favor of potting up gradually in pot sizes. I go from a polystyrene cup to 4 inch to 10 litre. Potting up in steps gives the plant a false sense of it's surroundings and gives it a constant fast-slow grow rate in my experience. I'm not saying don't gradually pot up, but that I don't agree with it. After all, when you pot a plant out into a bed it stalls, (as any plant you re-pot) but then it takes off with vigour. Goldie.
