Right on brother. I've heard over the last six decades that Truth is the first casualty of war. How true that is today. On Russian and Iraqi news today I saw that Iraq wants Russia to start using Iraq air bases and air space to help them fight ISIS, who have demonstrated that they are well armed and well funded by someone? ISIS seems to have a lot of FORD F-150 trucks and TOYOTA TUNDRA trucks that are made in Texas. How hard would it be to find out who sent these trucks over to them?

Curious, that they point out the trucks, instead of trying to find out where ISIS is getting the weapons and ammunition.

Back in the 80s Chad invaded southern Libya over disputed territory that Libya was trying to seize. They assembled their soldiers within Libya by mobilizing in Toyota pickup trucks. It was nicknamed "The Toyota War" though I'm pretty certain that Toyota didn't endorse it. The Libyans were armed with American guns while Chad fought with French weapons. It was a classic proxy war but didn't get much play in the media even though it was clearly between "allies" using African nations as pawns. To their credit, Chad decimated the Libyan army by 10% and managed to kick them out.

What is less known is that Reagan was only giving Libya pillow talk support. He actually wanted Chad to defeat Libya to remove Gaddafi without having to turn to his vice president's creepy CIA connections to do the job. Instead the supplies from the US were disrupted and modified (like sending the wrong bullets as well as arctic survival gear). Gaddafi actually claimed he won the conflict.

I think assholes who use guns to make policy will always find sources of weapons. Even if they have to starve their own people to do it. The big rush now seems to be which Jihadist group will be the first to get and use a dirty bomb. Then the next landmark will be a fission bomb. So we celebrate "making history" these days for its own sake instead of letting it happen organically. Truly a human curse.

Do you suppose when Doctors Without Borders gets errantly bombed, it's covered under Obamacare?

The Doctors knew the risk when they signed up to perform medicine in a WAR ZONE - Duh!

It’s really unfortunate and I hope there’s a thorough investigation but to suggest it was deliberate is conspiracy theorist nonsense.

Likely not. But the free medical they give is certainly justification for the bombing, however.

The government of Iraq has been saying for months that when Iraqi forces kill ISIS fighters they always seem to have M-16 automatic rifles that are stamped on the receivers with "PROPERTY OF THE US GOVERNMENT" and the ISIS fighters have other American items including MREs.

Could the hospital have been harboring a dangerous enemy that required neutalization ? Could the attacking
war planes have been in the control of a madman . Or a secret enemy agent ? War crimes can be so puzzling .

The laws of war are preposterous abstractions when war is the crime .

Yeah Brother, I remember the Gonzo Years. Yesterday the NATO folks elected to put troops and weapons in Turkey to protect against Russia. Last week they did that in south-eastern Europ. NATO now has 45000 troops ready at Russia's borders. The USA has 200 tanks, lots of jets and rockets, and 45000 troops in Poland and Ukraine against Russia's borders. I don't think Putin has missed these developments. Things are not looking good. I'm old enough to remember the start of lots of wars. I 've watched these things during the administrations of the last 11 presidents, and some of them served two terms.

Our lovely Government in action. And...we won't get factual news or any intel about how this happened.

A story popped up today about this. What they are saying is that the hospital was not identifiable from the air because it lacked flags designated by the Geneva convention. The pilots were not aware it was a hospital. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

George, not a problem. Pull the video from the cockpit.

I doubt that would help. It would only show them attacking an unmarked building. Since they have had human shield issues before, to prevent retaliatory strikes. This should not be a surprise. Missing markers have led to friendly fire problems before. If anything the cockpit recorder will show routine actions from the flight crew. Knowing how they were directed to the target is probably an external conversation. Two of my uncles went to Vietnam and both agreed that "bombs really really suck". I can imagine it being much worse for unsuspecting doctors and patients. War zones are bad places to be.
