I'm 33 years old..I can remember when i was in 8th grade I knew the slogan "who killed laura palmer"...it was so popular but I don't think my parents watched it or I couldn't stay up to watch it...but somehow that got into my brain with never watching it when it was on...
What makes this series IMO is it was canceled before Lynch could ruin it...
The "ending" although not really intended to be the ending is perfect...
It is like a glimpse into an alternate reality...

If you like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Lost...you HAVE to see it..only 2 seasons..

    It is perfect...

I was too young to understand Twin Peaks when it was first aired, but my liking for David Lynch's films had prompted me to borrow a whole season from Twin Peaks. Oh, man it is the best television series that was ever made. Beyond just having an interesting plot, characters, and good humor, it completely takes the piss of the whole medium of the television series with the most absurd dialogues better than even South Park can. My favourite one is

A: Oh, I read about this meal from this French magazine. It had the recepie. You take sheeps head, you fill it up in wall nuts, and you roll up into some blamage sauce and then you bake it.

    B: That sounds delicious.

    A: It's to-die-for!

That in itself is a complete piss take towards all of those tv shows that have to include one scene in which a character has to describe some foreign meal that he hate, to place the viewer at a disadvantage for having never heard of that dish in his life.
