This has stuck with me from my youth ("All those years ago") - The Lyrics? :- "You've got to fight for what you want, For all that you believe. It's right to fight for what we want, to live the way we please. As long as we have done our best, then no-one can do more, and life and love and happiness, are well worth fighting for. And we should never count the cost, or worry that we'll fall. It's better to have fought and lost, than not have fought at all. Let's always take whatever comes, and never try to hide. Face anything and anyone, together, side by side. You've got to fight for what you want, For all that you believe. It's right to fight for what we want, to live the way we please. As long as we have done our best, then no-one can do more, and life and love and happiness, are well worth fighting for". - (Songwriter: Alex Masters) = A credo of Conviction and Conscience
Not knowing the particular television programme, nor the theme song from it, nonetheless have been following the creed annunciated therein for the past six decades.
It was a Children's TV programme from the 1960's, broadcast throughout the 'school holidays' The Flashing Blade is a French television serial made in the late 1960s. It was first broadcast in the UK on BBC children's television during the 1960s, with several re-runs throughout the 1970s. The British version of twelve 22 minutes episodes was created from the original four French 75-minute episodes . Being a child of a certain age, growing up in a World that was changing with revolutionary ideals and aspirations, along with my faith of credo, it resonated with me strongly and became my mantra also. "Keep the faith"
Another one of my FAB faves was the Original 1967 - "Of it's time/era" THE PRISONER The establishment spy resigns and is whisked away for interrogation - 17 episodes of Fantasy fun "I am not a Number, I am a free man" = forever the mantra of an individual - "Keep the faith"
I've noticed them get shorter. There have been several, but the only one that I specifically remember in this instant is Blacklist. It has no theme song; just a series of images that play over the course of several seconds - maybe two actually. That's it! Nothing to it. I almost feel bad for the guys who used to write theme music. Gone are the days apparently because it's been a trend now with several popular shows having a nothing to it intro.
