Turn gift card to cash

Is there anyway to turn a giftcard, i have an american express one with 50 credit, into cash.

I know i cant do cash back.

Is there like a debit card i can buy a prepaid one that i can then take out cash with?

Any ideas?

 

You can sell your giftcard on certain websites which cater to that. You won't get the face value, but you'll get a relatively decent amount of $$$. Do a google search for "sell my giftcard" or something like that.

You can also try to sell it on Craigslist. That's kinda sketchy though.

 

buy something at walmart ...then return it

 

buy cheeseburgers and liquor and resell them for a profit

 

You could sell it to someone at a discounted price.

pain in the ass..but you can call AmEx, have them send you a gift check and they'll invalidate the gift card - then deposit it in your bank account...and then you can withdraw the cash.

The walmart return thing wouldnt work, as you would get a walmart gift card in return as recipt would indicate how it was purchased i would think.

You could also buy gasoline and resell..make sure to put it in Milk jugs

 

No, if you have a receipt you get cash back when you return stuff at Wal-Mart. They give you gift cards if you don't have a receipt.

I wouldnt wanna take less or sell to someone unless I had to
