"According to a new analysis, Tungurahua may be showing early warning signs of what could be a catastrophic structural collapse, thought to be due to instabilities wrought by the damage of ongoing magma activity inside the volcano. "Using satellite data we have observed very rapid deformation of Tungurahua's west flank, which our research suggests is caused by imbalances between magma being supplied and magma being erupted," says geophysical volcanologist James Hickey from the University of Exeter in the UK." Don't worry, I read a headline article on Facebook yesterday and it says NASA has a plan to stop volcano's erupting. I had a bit of a LOL reading that headline because like humans are bad and stuff for the earth and environment so the scientific analysis seemed to be hey, let's just stop the earth from doing its natural thing, that might work.
Let me guess, something that someday may help scientists stop eruptions, give us funding for 50 years, and in 50 years we will be no closer to working out how to because we knew it was impossible all along
Well, yeah, there's a reason I don't read the articles. Sounds like a bunch of belloni to me. All I know is from my experience is if you block one outlet, it's gonna find another outlet and when there are no more outlets, whatever you're trying to contain gonna blow out somewhere.
You could always be like the little Dutch boy and stick your finger in the hole to stop the Magma leaking out.
