There are so many ways to reconstruct a tee, but here is one that is simple for even a beginner. Get a tee that is 1 size larger than what you normally wear. Lay it flat and make sure all seams are even. Cut two inches off the bottom of the tee (you'll use that part later). Cut the neck off in a scoop shape. You can start by cutting a little bit at a time to make sure it is as scoopy as you want it. Next cut off the tips of the sleeves (about an inch). The next step is to cut the front of the tee off center all the way from bottom to top, making sure you only cut through the front of the shirt. Now you are going to sew the part you cut with right sides together, press the seam flat and the sew the edges of seams to form two casings. Now take the 2 inch strip you cut from the bottom and attatch a safety pin to one end and thread it through (starting from the bottom) of one of the casings all the way to the top. Now thread it back down the second casing all the way to the botto. Make a knot at both ends and tie into a bow. This is called ruching. I like to slit the sleeves and tie them to make the sleeves more fitted. You can even cut the sleeves and make fringe, knotting the ends. You are only limited by your imagination. Your shirt should look like this:
