get one of those big coolers, that families sometimes use to carry big picnic lunches and stuff, drill 5 holes into it (4 for tokin' - depends on your group, one for the bowl), from there i'm sure you get the idea. you can also use it as a waterfall bong by uncapping the little hole in the bottom. haven't made it but i'm planning to.

    should work, eh?

    use a 2 liter bottle
make a foil bowl or whatever bowl you already have
put multiple hoses in it on the side
or if you want it to be water, put the bowl in the bottom and seal the cap

I made one with a 2L bottle and drainage hoses. One day I came home and it was gone from under my bed. Scary.

Screw the hookah, make a power blaster bong.
As someone said, a hookah just looks kewl. They don't work that great IMO.

Just for anecdote, my friend had a great big 4ft tall brass hookah with 6 hoses, straight from india with nice decorative embossing and kewl feet. It had a bigass 6 inch wide brass bowl on the top, you could fit an oz or three in it. It was sweet just for novelty sake. I dont' see the point of a makeshift hookah though.

A power blaster bong is something like the little battery operated fan powered pipes except with water (and MORE POWER! [IMG]).

I invented this contraption, which is versatile enough to connect to anything that can connect to a tire tube valve, either on the threads, or fitted inside the valve tube.

Cut a hole in the side of a 2L bottle, about 1 inch in diameter, try to make it as round as possible and remove any spurs. A wide mouth bottle is actually preferable, but it must have smooth sides.

Get a bicycle tire tube, and cut the valve out in a circle patch about 3 inches in diameter.

To make the next bit of instructions a little more clear, you should understand that the valve will be attached to the bottle, so that the stem sticks out, with the patch of rubber inside the bottle.

Use fine sandpaper to scour the top side of the patch of rubber that you left attached to the valve stem to provide better adhesion, same as you would for patching a tire tube.

Lightly scour the inside of the bottle around the hole you cut out in an area the size of the patch if you can. Don't worry about it if it's too much trouble, it's not worth cutting the hole bigger.

Lightly coat the top side of the patch of rubber (the part you scoured) with rubber cement from a bicycle repair kit. Use your finger to also coat the inside area of the bottle that you scoured.

Let the cement dry for about 5 to 10 minutes. It should be nearly dry to the touch but still tacky.

Carefully stuff the patch of rubber into the hole, so that the cement on the patch doesn't touch the cement inside the bottle. Don't let go of the stem. If you drop the valve into the bottle you will have a very hard time to get it to fall into proper position without getting stuck.

When you manage to get the patch into the bottle, while holding the valve stem, carefully align the patch with the hole and set it. Use light pressure to pull the stem to help set the patch a bit better. DON'T pull hard enough to stretch the rubber.

Put the cap on the bottle, connect a bicyle pump to the valve, and carefully pump up the bottle without the valve bulging too much. The pressure in the bottle will help to seat the patch better, as long as you don't put too much. Too much pressure will cause the patch to peel from the bottle as the rubber bulges out the hole. (A smaller hole would help to prevent this, but is more difficult to work with)

Leave the bottle sit for about 1 day, if you can be that patient. Keep checking it to make sure the patch is staying seated and that the pressure isn't escaping.

You need a bowl that will fit through the mouth of the bottle. For all my dope gadgets, I always use the laithed aluminum, threaded pipe pieces that you find at hemp shops because they are so versatile, so I'll be suggesting that you have one of those bowls with an aluminum stem attachment at least 4 inches long. A deep bowl is better. I like the 1 inch deep bowls, you can stuff nearly an 1/8oz into them.

Cut a hole in the lid of the bottle for the stem to fit through. The hole should be very snug to tight. Insert the stem through the bottle lid so that the bowl is on the inside of the lid.

Using another 2L bottle, cut a hole in it's lid, so you can fit the pipe stem through. It should be very snug to tight. I'll call it the 'bucket' bottle, to avoid confusion with the first 'pump' bottle.

Insert the stem with the pump bottle lid and bowl attached, into the hole in the lid of the bucket bottle so the lids mate top to top. Attach a tube to the stem that will reach to the bottom of the bucket bottle.

Cut a hole in the side of the bucket bottle near the top for a tube to toke from. Insert the tube so that it is only 1 to 2 inches into the bucket. Again, make sure the hole is very snug.

Fill up the bucket 1/2 to 3/4 of the way with water and/or ice. Put the lid on.
Right now, your bucket bottle is a perfectly functional bong.

Get your air pump ready. I recommend an electric tire pump, or a high powered aquarium pump, or better. My favorite was a 2HP airbrush compressor. YEAH BABY! [IMG]

You can use a hand bike pump, and it works pretty damn good too, but you will prolly
end up wrecking your contraption, and besides, it's not very relaxing, which kinda goes against the point of smoking dope.

Pack the bowl, and spark it up. Get a decent glow goin in the bowl and screw the pump bottle over top.
Quickly hook up your compressor, flick it on and prepare to get blasted, literally.

The whole thing will look like an hourglass when it's all put together. With the top portion that has the valve, covering the bowl, and the bottom bong portion.

I made a power blaster with 2 2L bottles a 1 inch deep bowl, and a 2HP electric airbrush compressor, and it would burn through a gram in 30 seconds.
With a group of 5 people, we woud all get about 2 tokes in 30 seconds!
The thing was so powerful, that if you put your lips around the tube it would force the smoke out your nose.

If you don't like coughing, you prolly won't like using a power blaster.
If you want to cough so hard you can feel your brain cells popping, you should try a power blaster bong.

I can't emphasize the importance of making sure everything fits well and you have a good tight seal. The better your seals are, the better your power blaster or bong or whatever pipe contraption you make will be.

I haven't made one in a few years, so I don't have any pictures to show as example, sorry.

Hopefully I've explained well enough so that you can replicate my experience with this insane toker! [IMG]

    Enjoy

^^that probably takes the cake as far as the longest post i've ever seen

another method that is easier for making homemade water bong/or a hookah

i posted this a while ago but its worth mentioning

take the metal coiled doorstops, preferrably a new or clean one

cut a circle out of a coke can about 1 1/4 inch in diameter, and put a small hole in it about 3/8ths an inch from the edge

push the end of the coiled doorstop at the wide end through the tin, and spin drag it around until its about 3/4ths an inch down the spiral of the doorstop, and then poke holes in it for airflow

dont use tinfoil casue its too weak, the coke can is reusable cause its strong

    you can make a water bong out of that cause its a pretty long bowl, or if you want to make a water-hookah do this;

take a pen tube and either melt it to or tape it to the skinny end of the doorstop, and put that in the top of a coke bottle so that the bottom of the pen tube is pretty far down the bottle, and seal it
fill it with water, and just put hoses or whatever through the bottle a good distance above the water

i like the long tube cause i can use it for anything really

lol well it was this old radio i got for 2 dollars down at the salvation army... it looked like a WWII radio. pretty big thing. I gutted it, took out all the electronics and the antenna and everything. i put the new bowl where the antenna was, used a plastic tube thingy that i found in the radio (i don't know what it was used for before) as a tube, ran it down to an old container (that used to hold eyeglass cleaner - i cleaned it out and everything - this and the bowl are the only parts of the radio bubbler that didn't come from the radio itself). Filled that with water, cut a small hole in the top of the container, ran another part of the tube from there out where the dial for volume usually is. if you lift up the bowl it also acts as a carb.

it was fun. best thing is this: the radio opens via a big flap on the back, and i can easily make the radio look like it's completely normal. i just close it up, button the flap closed, put the volume dial back on, and boom. there's even space to store about a quarter of weed.

yeah, it's just a novelty piece, i only used it once for fun and only made it because i was bored, but it's awesome! :D

when i'm bored, i always find it fun to modify little pieces of junk into crafts or smoking accessories or whatnot... i figure if i'm going to be throwing something out i might as well have a last little bit of fun with it :)

    Wonderboy:

I made a toilet bong once. It was pretty hilarious, and worked really well too.
I sold it to one of my friends for $100.

My favorite bong I ever made was a beaker bong. I worked in a laboratory, so I had access to all kinds of scientific equipment like surgical tubing and beakers and rubber stoppers. They even had this nifty machine for drilling perfect holes in the rubber stoppers. I have never used a bong that sealed so good. Or that cost as much :)
A scientific beaker is worth lik $200 to $500. You can get cheapy ones, though they are pretty fragile.

Sadly, I broke my beaker bong trying to stuff an ice cube into it :<
