The thing YOU forget is that those policies are actually supported by LAWS on the books. The "no shoes/shirt" law came about when I was a kid in the mid-60's. Same for the "no smoking" laws that came about in more recent years. There are few, if any, laws on the books requiring someone to wear a mask in public or elsewhere.

However, if you own the establishment, you make the rules. And as for thsoe few areas where their legislature has actually passed an act and had it signed into law by their respective governors or mayors: Enjoy your new law. I don't live there. I've recently worn a mask in two places because they asked, put a sign outside to that effect, and I dearly love both of those places and the people running them. I'll honor their request without comlaint if that makes them feel better, even though I know it doesn't do a lick of good.

I, for one, will remember this more than anything. They were SO serious about getting rid of him that they wouldn't do their dang jobs. They were so obsessed that they lied their butts off with one phoney scandal after another while simultaneously ignoring the fact that THEIR candidate actually DID collude with the Russians and she gave them 20% of OUR uranium while getting a quite hefty "addition" to her foundation as a result.

I'm pretty sure there was a legal basis for the impeachment proceedings.

The upcoming election will say a lot about American voters, either way. Regardless of who wins, it won't be the end of the world.

My thoughts: Bernie couldn't get anywhere because he's a communist crackpot. Same with most, if not all, of the other candidates who tried to foist themselves on us.

The republican party has some serious soul-searching to do. Most Americans are tired of business as usual, and we have been for decades. John Boehner's flipping upon getting elected enraged most voters who saw the platform he ran on, and the other rinos were already on voter's craplists for much the same reason. We don't want a moderate, and never did, regardless of what republican elitists say, and won't vote for them no matter what. THAT is what put abummer in the White House in the first place.

Yeah, it'll be good to see what happens with the next election.

  8. You should though.

I don't have to be a Trump "supporter" to see the democrat's game is in a sad state.

The culture of anti-intellectualism has been thriving here in the U.S. for DECADES. From elementary school through high school, it's been commonplace for certain groups of students to make fun of, ridicule, isolate, and even become violent toward students who excel in the classroom. The name-calling has then carried over into "adulthood" (???), so that today we have "adults" who belittle, yell and scream at, and become violent toward those who DID excel in school, college, and post graduate studies. We have people who barely struggled through high school (if they even graduated!) arguing against people with Doctorate and PhD. degrees and are globally acknowledged experts in their fields !!!!!

It's quite a sad commentary on our country when intelligence is ignored, ridiculed, and is seen as "out of fashion" or "snooty." The world's greatest successes were NOT accomplished by beer-guzzling, beer-bellied, tattooed, dirty, smelly, under-educated men and women that can't even speak well. But those very same people seem to "THINK " they're right about so many topics and have it all over the truly smart and intellectual people.

Witness the spikes in Covid-19 cases where these "geniuses" held "Covid-19 parties." You always find a lot of really smart, clear-thinking, intellectual experts around a keg party. When they're puking, slurring their words, or have their unconscious face buried in a plate of mac & cheese, or are flopping around in the mud, …………………… they can explain many, MANY things to the "dummies." I've seen and listened to some of these types of people and their burned-out, fried, silly comments & thoughts. It's embarrassing to watch & listen to such off-target, inaccurate ramblings. As they struggle to open yet another can of beer, they ridicule "know-it-alls" concerning any number of topics.

I don't feel sorry for them. They were lazy in school, and believed a high school diploma was all they needed to have a wonderful, successful life with financial stability and security. Reality bit them in the ass.

These same types comprise much of Rump's base. They follow Rump and believe he knows more than all the medical experts about the corona virus, and he'll bring back "good-paying" manufacturing jobs to the U.S. again. To them ………………. Rump is their life - preserver …………… their flotation device to save them. Good luck with that.

  11. You could be right, the numbers favor the democrats. That is IF everyone currently griping about Trump actually votes. Even if it's for Joe.

If the convention is brokered, they should still back Biden to show solidarity.

Let's hope so, if this country is ever going to return to a country of laws.

  20. Yea, they've been on the skids for a long time. When they put McCain and then Romney up to face Obama I knew they were going to lose. And so many republican lawmakers fold like a cheap suit if someone calls them names that it's hard to tell if any real ones exist anymore.

After all, Trump's not a real republican by any measure. He was a democrat for decades, even gave money to the Clintons.
