7 bombings in 12 days. Can we stop being afraid of being labeled racists to address certain issues now?
Are you afraid of being labled a racist to adress certain issues? Are you hindered when making such a topic? Me neither. The mainstream media can never do it right it seems. Focussing on national issues of certain minorities: they (helped) polarize the nation! Does not focus (enough) on terror and crime in certain foreign countries: actively suppressing news in order to avoid being accused of being racist! Is this having a cake and eating it too? Also: the thread title refers to that time Trump was so awfully ridiculed for mentioning a terrorist attack in Sweden the night before that speech. There wasn't one the night before. He never was right about that. See? Details and nuance matters I'll check the links later. Internet sucks atm... But i can tell you that even though it wasn't on tv news here in the Netherlands (as far as i know), the same news outlets/organisation did report on the bombing of a Helsingborg police station last week on their site. Its considered mainstream news btw
Not me I’m not afraid of being labeled a racist because I know I’m not. However it’s gotte to the point where bing labeled as one can ruin your career and life. You didn’t check the links but you shoot the messenger anyway? Wow.
Time Magazine is saying that the Alt-Right is using the bombings in Sweden to fuel conspiracy theories Fascinating. But wait... These attacks were happening this month. I guess what you're meaning then is that Trump, who said something previously (February?), turned out to be right because there have been so many attacks recently?
I think it's a somewhat reputable source. I would use it for citations in a report. I admit I know relatively little about the immigration situation in Sweden. Just what I've read in the last few minutes. There aren't really that many conflicting views. Just a non-partisan look at the facts. Apparently there are lots of refugees who end up there. And lots of people want to go there because it's nice to raise kids, has an egalitarian set of ideals that supports women, etc. I think it's tragic that a country has to consider revamping it's policies because of terrorist threats. Perhaps there can be sanctions on terror that do not affect immigration?
don't want to get into any nasty crap, but I am honestly curious about the sources you feel are worth heeding when it comes to news. Are there any "mainstream" sources you accept? if not what sources do you deem provide accurate reporting? I tend to take the vast majority with a big grain of salt, both mainstream and alternate sources, as everyone has some form of agenda they wish to promote. For some reason we have subscription to Time so I read it while sitting on the shitter, and I very often chuckle at the loaded statements and veiled rhetoric the editors/authors try to inject, BUT that does not mean that the entire news being reported is all bullshit, just the nuanced perspective it is framed within. I do that with any and all sources I look into. again, this is not meant as any type of dig or negative comment towards you or the OP, I am genuinely interested.
^ I asked the same before. Unfortunately I think there's a reason he shares plenty of sources with topics involving health and diet, but rarely about his views on world affairs and (alt ) history. I also do not say this to ridicule, it's just very noticeable. And thus a very valid question. Therefor I will say I sincerely appreciate 6-eyed added links and will take the effort of checking them (hopefully wednesday!)
lol ...that is exactly the way I interpreted all of that... that #45 made his (fake news) announcement way back when, and then since there have been some bombings this month he has now been vindicated.
So is Time magazine telling us to ignore the problem? Is that it? You act as though these are the only terrorist problems Sweden has ever had. It's been an ongoing problem since they blissfully opened their borders to the third world, long before a Trump presidency became a thing. They now have muslim gang controlled no-go zones throughout their cities and villas. The "alt-right" wouldn't be such a problem if the media would stop giving Richard Spencer a free platform and a spotlight. For a celebrity, he only has 76k followers on Twitter and even less on his Youtube channel. And that's low for someone of his notoriety. Bernie Sanders once said that we should learn from Nordic countries like Sweden. I completely agree with Sanders. The lesson to be learned is that opening your borders to the third world in mass numbers can lead to cultural suicide. The progressive left is running out of socialist utopias to say have the best living standards and happiness index levels in the world. They had high hopes for Venezuela 10 years ago. Now they have to sweep the Swedish terrorist attacks under the rug to keep their narrative afloat.
Excuse me. All I can say is Trump's only error in his speech was that there wasn't a terror attack in Sweden "the night before." Just because he got his dates wrong doesn't make the refugee problem any better for Sweden. Nah his ego is big enough. No need to inflate it any more than it already is.
You sound like the mainstream media you so much like. You take a bunch of random incidents and make up a huge story about immigrants that you can't prove. Also: do you actually speak Swedish? Thought so. In that case the US should be culturally dead by now, seeing that it's full of stinking immigrants from Mexico, China, Pakistan, England and Ireland.
