Seems the Georgians are not so happy with ultra-MAGA candidates promoted by LOSER ex-president and still not locked up criminal TRUMP.

Looks like he got kicked in the rump!

Herschel had to concede, he's such a loser he couldn't even articulate why he wanted to be a senator!!!

This gives the Democrats a huge advantage in the Senate, not only having the majority vote, they can now reshuffle the committee memberships to reflect the new reality. This will loosen all sorts of road blocks the Republicans regularly place in the way of any sensible legislation.

This is another big nail in the Donald's coffin. Republicans don't seem to care much about insurrection plotting, absconding with national secrets, and terminating the Constitution, but losing elections gets their attention! In fairness to Walker, I thought his concession speech was surprisingly classy, if ironic. Unlike his mentor Trump, he did concede, & he called for support of the Constitution, implicitly contradicting the recent call for the opposite by Trump.

It's depressing to think that the race was so close, considering that one candidate has a history of domestic violence, pathological lying, and is so obviously severely brain damaged (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), manifestly unqualified, and unfit for service that his recruitment and candidacy bordered on exploitation of a disabled person and was tantamount to political vandalism of our democracy. In a larger sense, 48.6% of the electorate voted not only for Walker, but in favor of an overtly Fascist personality cult that wants to literally "terminate" the Constitution.

While the Democrats celebrate their 51/49 Senate majority, because of Manchin and Sinema it's functionally 50/50 at best, while in the House ascendant Republicans are vowing to take the economy hostage in order to demand the evisceration of Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security upon which millions of Americans depend, and to bring the work of the people to a complete halt by monopolizing their time with malicious, kangaroo-court, made-for-Fox News show "investigations"; the kind of slanderous, fact-free, non-stop, shit-slinging barrage that gave the American public the indelible impression that Hillary Clinton was somehow corrupt and untrustworthy despite her complete exoneration by over ten years of continuous and myopic Congressional and FBI scrutiny.

"The pretense that Georgia’s white voters were conducting a good-faith exercise in democracy is laid bare by looking at the behavior of those who self-describe as “white born-again or evangelical Christians”. Georgia’s white Christians faced a choice between a man who has zero qualifications for the office and a mountain of unchristian immorality and scandal on the one hand, and an incumbent senator who is a Christian minister and the successor to Martin Luther King Jr. (Warnock is the senior pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the faith-based home of Dr King.)

Walker’s melanin notwithstanding, he is nonetheless the handpicked errand boy of Trump and all who subscribe to his whites-first view of the world.
In deciding between the Christian church leader and the unrepentant and unqualified hypocrite, 88% of white born-again Christians voters chose against the church leader. Which leads to the inescapable conclusion that it was not the Christian part of their identity that determined their political choice. It was their whiteness."

Georgia Senate voters have a moral choice. White Christians are choosing hypocrisy | Steve Phillips

I just can't understand why they put Walker up there for office- with all the qualified people they could have used instead of a shit show.

That's no accident. They're intentionally running dolts like Walker, Tyler Greene, Boebert, Jordan and Gaetz in an effort to make the electorate so disillusioned and alienated from their own government that they simply give up and stop participating en masse. They're literally vandalizing our democracy.

Alternatively, perhaps "all the qualified people" oppose Fascism.

This very description was labeled as " abelist" by Democrats in Pennsylvania's Senate contest, how ironic.

They thought that, given the demographics of Georgia, they needed to run an African-American, and it's hard for Republicans to find African-Americans of the caliber of Warnock to run on their ticket. Walker was handpicked by Trump, and in some respects was a black version of him--celebrity, intellectually and morally challenged, casual relationship with the truth, etc. If it worked, they'd have a reliable stooge in the Senate. And let's face it, it almost worked!
