He's demonizing half the country. Anyone who opposes him is allegedly some scheming rat that his country has no time or patience for. And all the country's sadists are in lock and step with him. Everyone with no integrity. Everyone who wants an excuse to not have to be a person of character.

He's got the left and right calling each other childish names. That's how he sees things. He doesn't even know what character means, and he drags everyone down with him. Until all the loonies come out of the woodwork talking about civil war and everything else.

Republicans can definitely be ashamed of themselves, the little prats who giggle every time someone says something serious they don't understand. They're all schemers.

 

So what ended up happening with all this anyway? We gone on holiday or what?

 

Suzanne, you missed the point altogether. What I was saying is if you violate the law on one day and on the next, you are culpable both times. The analogy is about Trump being impeached twice. The Republicans are saying he cannot be impeached twice. I say if he violated the law twice, then it follows he could be charged twice, just like the speeding fool on that highway.

Remembering all of the times that John Gotti was brought up on charges and the aquittals won in court. Everybody just knew he as guilty of something: he was on page one of the tabloids constantly. If this was not technically double jepoardy it sure smelled like it.

Well if one is indeed a big time mobster, then one would think he could be charged with something tougher than the legal equlivant of jaywalking, and that charges would stick in court. And if The Feds could not prove a convincing case, that they should just lay off.

I bring this up because Mr. Gotti was not a sympathetic figure. Yet he still would deserve a presumption of innocence; even if he was constantly in the newspapers. Certain people will be taken aback at the awesome power of The State marshaled to bust an individual. Law enforcement on steroids.

Remembering that Mr. Clinton was tried basically for dry humping that girl & lying about it. The whole government was tied up in knots. Is this current episode some sort of payback for the Clinton inpeachment?

 

No, there is no comparison between Clinton and Trump. I remember the 90’s well and Clinton’s impeachment had no impact on our nation. But Trump has seriously harmed our nation. From day one he has followed the alt-right and thrown our nation under the bus. The fiasco with Russia and the Kurds is an example. Another is giving credence to the climate deniers. At any level that is a crime against humanity and every other nation as well as incredibly stupid. Not to mention the fact that he has divided our nation to a degree not seen since 1860 and tried to marginalize every person who is not a WASP and male.

 

as long as he follows the republicans and not the 'rats we will be fine. there is no climate change, its all in your head. and where is the crime ?. getting out of the way of the Russians and Kurds is a good thing . we don't belong there, we are not the world's police force.

As an individual with completely different viewpoints when it comes to political nonsense, I believe the impeachment needed a little more "substance" if the Dems want to assure he's removed.

As an American, I would appreciate it we could get on with this trial; remove or exonerate the man, either way, I lost interest when Pelosi felt inclined to try and run the Senate from the House floor.

Just get on with it, and let's move on to other more pressing issues - like liberating North Korea from its unchained ruler.
