Anyone else watch this? I never miss it. It's one of only two shows I watch religiously (the other is House). I've never read the book, but now that I'm all into the series, I don't want to spoil the plot for myself... So seriously, am I the only weirdo on here who likes this show?
I like it. So far ive watched every show...up untill episode 5 it was slow coming , but now its getting really good!
I have seen the episodes so far, I used to be all about vampiers when I was younger so I figured it was worth a shot. I want to know what happend to the woman that turned Bill, wouldnt they be linked, maybe they will say in the next episode The whole doing vampire blood as a drug thing is interesting too,
Yeah they have many interesting elements at play here. Which makes it pretty good. I think the women who turned Bill did so because she saw something different in him that she didn't in other people...she like that and keep him around.. I think that is what Bill is going to do to sauke (sp)?...eventually turn her because she is different that the rest... Maybe you're like whoever turned you...
I'm still trying to figure out the vampire "rules" for this show... So you're drained of blood, then you drink vamp blood, so you become one? But then, why didn't Sookie turn when Bill gave her his blood after the Rattrays kicked the shit out of her? Who knows... But this week's epi was quite a ride. That pie scene- I thought I was gonna blubber myself to death. So sad- no more pie from Gran. But the Sookie-Bill lovin' made up for it. Even though the romance-novel stuff leading up to it was a bit much
The books are way better. The show is like a train wreck. I can't stop watching despite them making my fav characters, red neck trash. Also the fangs look just horrible. The last episode took out some of my very fav characters. I'm so sad. I do like the female lead though. The show with her trying to eat the faux (what the heck was that thing???) pecan pie while crying HURT me to watch. Who eats when they are crying?
Eating the pie was supposed to be symbolic of saying goodbye to her grandmother. There was actually a LOT of backlash over this scene for reasons ranging from it was too slow=paced to the damn pie wasn't made right, but the point was that it was the last pecan pie she would ever have from Gran. It also went along with what Lafayette said about "bad juju" and "fear" being baked into the food that the neighbors brought. Gran made her pie with much love for her family. Sookie was letting go, because there would be no more Gran and no more of Gran's pecan pie ever again. Even if the pie was God-awful, it was still her pie, and there will never be another like it. That's a huge thing to deal with when you've just lost someone unexpectedly. She's bound to cry while she's doing it.
I saw the episode when two characters took vampire blood and tripped like crazy. Peaked my interest but haven't been able to follow it since then.
They had a couple more episodes like that before the season ended. Personally I found them to be a little grating, but only because I hated Amy the yippie.
I lOVE this show...I was a little late to start it, but now I've watched the entire first season and am currently watching the second one as it appears on T.V. I love the strong female characters in the show. I also love the way they make something completely fantastical seem as though it could actually happen...it's believable the way they bring in all the politics. I wish I'd known there were books though...I'm going to have to take a look.
I missed the last episode!! Trying to find it in reruns before Sunday... It's evaded me so far... DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING!!
I keep trying to order it from the library but I keep getting a crappy Sylvester (bad spelling) Stallone movie... erg.
Love the show especially vampires and the back drop being in a southern town, plus the character development in really good. I've seen every episode release so far, though I'm not liking the whole Texas vampire brouhaha and the Fellowship of the Light business but the shape-shifters (the bar owner) run in with the sex-cult chick has my eyes glued. -----------------------------------------------------------^ possible spoiler Fire, who is you favorite character on the show so far? Mine is vampire sheriff Eric, he is usually so calm and collected but lately he has been getting fired up :cheers2:
Lafayette!! Hands down... I'm really loving Jessica and Hoyt together so far, and yeah, Eric is growing on me, too (I hated his guts last season).
Sorry to but in...but I LOVE Lafayette...great character. I also really liked Gram and was sad she had to go. Sookie makes it up there on my list because I really like her attitude.
Awww, yeah, I miss Gran. Sookie was better at the beginning, I thought. Lately she's been getting on my nerves, but last episode (which I finally saw), she seemed really human and real, and I was sad to see her treated the way she was. I'm hoping Jason will come to her rescue, guns blazin' to kick some ass. Hoping Bill does the right thing, but who knows? Hooray! One more night!
Sorry for the double post, but quick recap: Jason rocks, Eric rocks, Bill rocks (awkward man-hug), and most of all GODRICK ROCKS. Some people just needed to be put in their place. :toetap05: And by the way, Hunter's souffle has got to be the first scene in YEARS to ACTUALLY horrify me... in a horror series no less! Finally.
Godrick is the shit, so calm he must know that he is the shiz. I actually like Bills maker, she's gorgeous. It will be nice to see what happens to Sam now that everything in Texas has settled down a bit.
