Ok, so I go to a private school, and as such, I might have to take out my baby dreads before school starts. This is the last thing I want to do. There is a loophole however. The uniform code states that hair is ok as long as it is at or above the collar. So my question is, is it worth keeping them in if they have to be a certain length?
Cant you just rap it up... You know get one of those hats hindui have...(not meant as an insult but i truely dont know what they are called.) and hide you hair in there... Or better yet just put it into a hat and say its a part of your religion or some stupid shit like "if i take my hat off the aliens are going to read my mind"...
Ok, i assume you're a boy and that the girls are allowed to have longer hair? Couldn't you dig up some really serious history research about the tradition of short hair on men, that it's only been for a couple of hundred years et cetera. And, wtf, what if your religion tells you you should have long hair? Also, a good argument, to strenghten the sex roles like that, is it really so the 21st century. If you are serious and well prepared maybe it'd make sense?
Just keep them let them be long go rebel against school! I did got external suspension for wearing a stewie shirt 'You are the morons... Damn you all' to piss my principal off lol! Anyway if they complain about your hair the teachers will jump all over you about it and your parents will defend you if they do trust me...
Maybe you could use the excuse I had prepare in case my job gave me shit (which they didn't): just tell them you're a rastafarian and that dreads are part of your religion! Unless it's a catholic school, religious freedom is for everyone.
Call up your school and ask for the policy for your school, for hair, and dreadlocks, and other bullshit rules to know... Then come back with the intel...
