Wow, that is an awfully long time to wait for a book. Apparently, you aren't the first to get charged and recieve nothing. I've heard from many people that ordered her book, that they either got the book months after the fact or not at all.

I personally think her book isn't the greatest in showing how to make patchy clothing and acessories. Her directions aren't really for beginners. I too ordered this book once upon a time and when I receieved it I was surprised that is was just a copy and not a very good copy at that. It was hard to read alot the writing and I couldn't make out alot of the picture tutorials due to bad photocopying.

I tried to return it to get my money back and no deal. I would warn others not to purchase this book, unless maybe she has updated it and made changes that I am not aware of.

I want to make it clear that I am not trying to flame Lauren, but I was disatisfied with her book and the fact that I could not return it. I just assumed that the book wasn't a photocopied book when I purchased it. When it came to me, it looked like she just copied pages (poorly I might add because the illustrations didn't show up well and the writing/typing was not all legible) and for the price, it just seemed poorly done.

The page that has the tutorial for how to figure measurements out for pants was so illegible. I couldn't make out what the numbers were next to the drawings and I had a hard time reading the words printed next to it.

In my opinion it was not put together very well as far as printing goes and I just felt that the patterns were really not made for someone new to sewing. Just my opinion. I had already been sewing for a while, but some of her instructions just didn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I wish the original poster of this thread luck with her purchase and I hope once she gets her book, she enjoys it. If not I hope she can atleast return it for a refund.

Hmm I bought that book long ago and I was satisfied with it. The printing was good, didn't have any trouble reading it. I paid through paypal,I think,it's hard to remember now,but I know it came in a reasonable amount of time.
Sounds like, things have changed though...like I said,I bought mine probably two years ago atleast, not recently.

A lot of people have said that she is very slow at sending the book. I got mine in a reasonable amount of time and the printing was good quality. I think if you don't receive it soon I would contact the credit card company about getting a refund. She's slow, but it shouldn't take that long.

I couldn't agree more. I was completely disatisfied with it as well. It took about over 4 months for me to receive the book, and it was not at all what i expected, (photocopied, poor explanations and grammar) nor is it really for beginners. Try Patchwork Expressions. I love that book!!!!!!!!! Good luck though, hopefully you get a refund, or the book itself.

I beleive that there is a law that a merchant must ship within 48 hours of charging a credit card. If you have any problems getting a refund, contact the consumer fraud section of your state's Attounry General. If this is an interstate transaction, contact the FTC.

I don't remember how long it took to get my copy, 2-3 weeks maybe, but I thought that for sure it was FOR beginners, as there was nothing in it I could use, and I had not that much patchwork experience under my belt. All the designs were SUPER easy, and were not actually patterns, more or less just cutting the shape of the clothing out, nothing tailored or fitted what so ever. I would be willing to sell my copy, as I leafed through it once, and then it sat on a stack somewhere since then, it is definitely a good book for people who don't really know what they are doing, since it is very simple and basic in design.
