Wasn't sure where to put this...Anyway, I'm looking to trimming my pubic hair, but I'm not sure what to buy. I do not want to use scissors, and I don't plan on shaving everything off (that would itchy as hell).

I was just wondering what any other guys use to trim and any recommendations people have.

My personal preference is towards complete shaving, and after a few days & having shaved a couple of times, with a liberal application of talc afterwards, the itching soon stops.

However, if you don't want to go all the way & just want to limit you yourself to trimming for now, then I would recommend a set of electric hair trimmers (a worthwhile investment for home haircuts as well as pubic trimming). With these, as with the hair on your head, you can also select the comb to use for your personal length preferences.

I wouldn't recommend using scissors, as it all to easy to catch the loose scrotal skin in them.

If you do decide to take the next step & opt for shaving, then it's advisable to use the trimmer without a comb on (Grade #0) to remove as much of the excess hair as possible first.

I find that a small pair of sharp scissors is best. Just don't drain the hair down the plughole in the bath/shower, it blocks it up. Throw it in the trash instead.

Yeah, I used to have a grooming kit, bu my parents threw it away after I moved out. Hmm...I guess I'll have to buy a new one.

Anyone have any ideas how to safely get hair off the testical area? Or would the trimmer (bare) be safe?

When I get around to it, I use small surgical scissors.

I'm really into natural and don't trim much, but some of the hairs tend to grow too long, longer than most. Seems to be a thing with getting older.

So, I pull out on the hair, sliding it thru my fingers and those that go beyond the bush get snipped.

I would say buy a pair of clippers with a soft razor. That's what I use, and it always feels great when I shave because the razor is so soft, and I've never hurt myself using them.

I use small scissors more the main, and then a razor for the testical area. No problems as of yet. haha.

I always use a Bic Orange (for sensitive skin), single bladed razor - I find the multi bladed ones tend to get gunked up between the blades.

It also seems to be that the razor works best after it's been used a couple of times, having been naturally stropped to the preferred cut.

I think it only really itches the first time you shave. After that first time, you shouldn't worry about a lot of itching when shaving.

I was actually nervous about shaving my pubes off for the first time because I thought it'd itch everytime it was shaved, but after I learned it's only for that first time, I went ahead and got it out of the way. It feels great when it's shaved. ;)

i use an electric head shaver. no guard. they are as small as they can get without fully shaving them with a razor and shaving cream. i have tried that a few times before and had some ingrown hair issues, otherwise i would do it. and i have been doing it like this for quite some time and when i started it felt itchy and irritated but now its the opposite, if i let them get too long (which isnt actually "long") they feel itchy and annoying.
