Trees are naked. I just thought you should know. It figures that we walk past them every single day... unless, maybe, you're in a city - and every day you may stop to stare at them, or look at them as you pass by, appreciating the natural beauty of it all. And then it hits you. Trees are naked. How about that?
Not really, the outer bark is like clothing, it's not even a live part of the tree. It protects from extreme temperatures, bad weather, insects, fungi, etc.
Yep I was gonna say this, but he said it better. Strip the tree of its bark and you'll see all trees have wood pun intended of course
I would tend to think that's more akin to skin... just saying Then again, you're right, it is hardly alive, so... hm... But it's still part of them. They cannot live without bark - we can live without clothes. Just visit the nudism/naturism section if you need proof of that
It's not alive at all, neither is most of the wood. Only the cambium layer, which is just a few cells thick at most. Not where I live, lol
trees are nice. i like trees. i like them more then pavement. or cars. i like that they turn CO2 into O2+C. unlike cars, which turn CH+O2 into CO1, which if it displaces too much O2 can and will kill me. trees are pretty too. and more interestingly shaped then rectangular buildings. vt said live. he didn't say stay out of trouble.
only diciduous trees really get naked and they do that for the winter. i'm not sure i understand the sense of that. as long as they do. conifers though, are never naked. that's why they're called evergreens.
