I have always fancied the idea of traveling around like a Gypsy would in a caravan but thought is it really practical and how I would get by for money. Also I am not able to drive (Not got a full liceince) and dont own a van/car/truck to tow it with. Does anyone do this regulary and how do you get on? Please explain, I would really like to live by the mountains one day then the sea the next and so on even if just for a month, or am I been totaly unrealistic? :cheers2:
There is a lot of people that do it, and even more people that want to do it. I have hitch hiked, stealth camped, and walked (my preferred mode of travel) and moved around from time to time. It's not as difficult as some people think to "get by". Getting by almost always means doing without something you think you need. When it comes down to it, you need shelter and food and water and courage. Things are changing here for me in Ohio, more than likely I'll be out walking again soon. Hopefully I can wait until the weather gets warmer, get a new backpack, and head out to find a place... *Edit - So anyone moving through Ohio looking for a traveling partner send me a message. My ideal place is somewhere I can garden, build an earth lodge, help build a community close to nature and live simply, quietly and peacefully.
I think it would be great myself to live in a caravan for a while whilst traveling about seeing new places and doing new things, meeting people also. Id rarther live in a Caravan than a House, thats just me, I like freedom to be able to move when you want to.
