    Trapped in Lucid Dreams

I stared into the old lady's black eye
empty and dark, and touched by madness
    I spoke, almost chanting,
"I want to wake up, I want to wake up..."

There was laughter in that crazy eye.
    No window to any soul
but a black hole into which I was falling,
    pulling me down into madness.

I was getting lost in the darkness
and talons of fear were reaching for my heart.
She pulled away, as if to release me
but I was still trapped within this nightmare.

No knowledge I contained, no science or wisdom
had anything to say nor help to give.
How to awaken when you know you're dreaming
is a lost art and I fear I'll never learn.

(based on a real dream I had 2 nights ago, with this lady and her black horrible eye. I "knew" it was a dream, wanted to wake up so bad but didn't know how. I think it works as a metaphor for life too. I may expand further on this one, not sure it's done or developed how I want it because of that.)
