I was at my doctor today and was asking if he could prescribe me oxycontin for whatever the reason. He said he could give me codeine, lortab (which i've been on for a while - 7.5/500), or tramadol. I don't know about tramadol but codeine for me is too week. It's almost as week as darvocet (which i can't stand). Has anyone heard of tramadol (ultram) and if so, is it any good?

I would say stay on lortab, tramadol has always seemed really weak to me BUT it is a very very pleasureable opiate when you take like 12 of them and you feel sooo awesome, maybe you can get both?

I would say there is a very much of a difference between Ultram and Lortab. I do not believe Ultram/Ultracet is even a controlled or scheduled drug in the US. I am almost positive that tramadol is NOT and opiate, so if you need stronger pain relief, Ultram would in my opinion not be a good replacement for lortab. It never helped me with pain.
