I need a few of these. uTorrent's search function has gone to hell, leaving me with no reliable torrent sites. I've been trying to download Reason 4.0 for a while, and every site I get makes you register to some bullshit and not even let you download it because you have to pay. Help me out.
uTorrent/BitTorrent's sites have always been shitty as hell. ThePirateBay is the only place to get torrents from dude, but watch what you download, TPB has been involved in a few law suits and there is probably surveillance on the site. (They've been winning the law suits, surprisingly, however)
www.torrentz.com I just use that one, I only use torrents for movies and bigger files but this site has never let me down.
Thanks, I just got the torrent from TPB, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to install it right because shit like this always fucks with me.
I got Reason from TPB, just make sure you read the comments on the torrent and find if it has any problems from those peeps.
Just an interesting note on TPB, they're based in Sweden, and recently there was a new law passed in Sweden which fucks over torrent downloading there. Basically (I'm not quite sure who) but when you're using torrent downloads, all the IP addresses of people downloading show up on screens, and all the people watching need to do is take a screenshot when your IP is up there, and you can get about a 200$ fine. I'm not sure exactly how it works, since one of my Swedish friends explained it to me, but here's a link: http://torrentfreak.com/sweden-to-introduce-controversial-anti-piracy-law-081023/ Not too long until it spreads to the rest of the world..
Following their last lawsuit, I'm pretty sure they moved their main servers to Switzerland - they also have back up servers in at least four countries. Anyways, my favorite place to get torrents is mininova.org, but I mostly download movies, so don't know how they are with else.
Meh TPB is alright, DEMONOID ftw now that my favorite torrent sites have been shut down Scrapetorrent.com is another good one as it searches a variety of sites including TPB, mega and mininova, btjunkie, etc etc People hit me up with a pm if you need an invite code
Not directly but they can lead to it. If you are in violation of your user agreement with you ISP they CAN and WILL hand your info over to authorities if you are being investigated for something.
exactly. as soon as they have your ip your basically fucked. well not basically... You'd just be fucked.
My ISP's a douchebag. It cuts off the internet for a split second when you have too high of bandwith downloading- I'm pretty sure this is directly related to torrents. So, good thing that's still considered civil.
Your ISP doesn't just hand you over to the authorities for torrenting lol, they actually give you warnings. Before comcast took over my area the old cable company sent me a total of 3 letters on different occasions telling me I was using too much bandwidth the first time, second that I shouldn't be using torrents as they are usually used for illegal things :rollseye:, and third that HBO was watching traffic over a Sopranos torrent and that I had downloaded it haha. I guess it was never a bigger deal than that because I never heard about it again before they left my area.
i didnt even know utorrent had a search function, usually google works well as long as you check the comments and if not then tpb.
demonoid.com and btjunkie.org are the best. Demonoid requires an account though, but if you want me to send you a referral code just pm me. It's a very good site. So is btjunkie. Piratebay isn't bad either.
