Earlier tonight, I went with my parents to an Italian restaurant. I enjoyed the food greatly, but there were a few things which ruined much of the experience. This has inspired to me to type a few things that annoy me when I'm in a restaurant. (No order)

    1. Loud children

    2. Parents who ignore their crying children

    3. Immature teenagers who have to make a comment about everything

    4. Customers who are rude to the waiter/waitress

    5. Ridiculously slow service

    6. Overly loud music being played through the speakers

    7. Relatives or friends who mumble in loud restaurants

    8. The one man/woman who keeps staring at you

    9. Being given a salad when I say nothing about wanting one

    10. My mother or father questioning my choice of meals. What's wrong with pigging out every now and then?

    11. Messy bathrooms

    12. No straws

    13. Waiters/waitresses who give me a refill when I request none

    14. Customers who try to talk to their guests from afar

    15. People who talk too loudly on their cell phone. Also, I hate it when I'm talking to someone and his/her cell rings and interrupts the conversation

    Hello,

I agree with your list mostly. But Italian restaurants tend to be a little bit slow. That is a sign of quality and expresses the rate of being italian ;). The other week I was in a little Italian restaurant. I was a little bit early and actually they hadn't opened at the time. But that was no problem. The patrone saw me, invited me to come in and let me have dinner with his family. I wouldn't say that is typical for restaurants. But for him it was a sign of Sicilian hospitality and I appreciated it.

    Regards
    Gyro

The service at the Italian restaurant was pretty good, even on a busy night like tonight. I was just talking about restaurants in general.

The only thing that I would change on that list is straws, cuz I don't use them.
I would change it to people who don't tip. My sister doesn't tip because she doesn't believe in 'paying someone to do something they're supposed to be doing anyway'.

Yeah, that's pretty unpleasant. I remember eating lunch at a restaurant in Winter Park and my table was seated next to a sweaty and slightly overweight man from the North. Oh, the stink he had made me sick to my stomach. Thankfully, he left before I got my meal.

For me, its too much bread that annoys me. Since I feel guilty about leaving a good amount of bread uneaten, I take it home with me. Yet, when I bring it back to my apartment, I forget about it and it rots in my fridge.

the big thing i hate about restaurants is not being able to afford to eat in them...maybe you should count your blessings and suck it up instead of whining like a little bitch

People coming in at closing time - OR 30 minutes before closing time....I'm sorry that's just sorry. Any restaurant worker that is admitting the truth will tell you that.

Nasty people that don't clean up behind their children (or themselves) if they made a Mess, especially at closing time.

People that change their order after you've already started it, or start yelling about add this and or that to the wait staff or cook.

That this is a flippin, snappin rule: People that run you around the most and hardest will be the least likely to tip...or will be the ones that leave you a piss poor tip.

What annoys the crap out of me is fuckers who are too lazy to do their jobs or to do them right. Or at least fix their mistakes in a nice manner. After working in food for so many years, I know it can be tough and I know you can't always be perfect, but dammit, you're getting paid to be there, you might as well do your job.

I soooo agree with you on the first one. I can not stand the sound of a kid crying or sreaming or even whining.

    That reminds me . . .

When I order a light meal, either my father or my mother asks, "Are you sure that's enough?" This, I have no problem with. However, in a buffet, they will keep asking me if I had enough, point out certain foods available, and ask if I want some of their own meal. I do not know why this bothers me, but it does, especially when they think they know my limits better than me. I'm either eating too much or eating too little.
