I am so mad!! I have never had a cavity my whole life and this year, my top wisdom teeth came in. Well, maybe my jaw is shaped oddly, but I can't reach them with my toothbrush. Anyway, I now have a killer cavity in one of them. A chunk of the tooth has actually crumbled off and I now have an exposed nerve. Anyway, I called my dentist and he is booked solid for a month. I'm dyin here!! Is there anything i can do for the pain until he can fit me in? I can't sleep and am nearly crying during the day from the pain. I have tried orajel and it works... for about 30 seconds. Tylenol and other OTC drugs did nothing. Is anyone aware of a natural remedy I should try. Puhleeeeeeze???
cloves...have you tried them yet?? I found that the powdered stuff works better..and it only works for a little bit..I've only tried it a couple times..but it works to kinda numb it a bit.. ahh, sorry..i know how toothaches feel, hope you feel better soon..
you sound like you need a root canal and most family dentists dont do those...you'll probably need to see a specialist. your family dentist will probably clean it out though before you see the specialist. call another dentist and keep calling around untill you find someone. tell them you have an emergency and need to get in right away or on the first cancelation. as for pain, maybe your doctor will prescribe you some pain meds in the mean time. mine gave me some ultracets but of course i had to come in and show him the tooth and prove that i had an appt coming up with a dentist.
WAX to keep the air off. available at discount store and by sweet-talking the receptionist at the dentist's office
i second the clove idea. get the essential oil at the health food. there is another herb called spilanthes also known as the toothache plant. i grew some last year & it will actually numb your entire mouth!!!! also, i've got a recipe for an herbal 'toothache poultice' if you want you can pm me
I actually used to grow splanthes in my herb garden but i have since moved into town and haven't gotten a chance to start a new garden. I miss it so much!!!
