he didn't even try to defnd himself so that his son and wife would be assured not to go to jail. Now thats the kind of integrity and self sacrifice we need. If only we could get a president with such courage. ---------- Stan Levenson, a veteran attorney with decades of experience arguing federal cases, was one of three lawyers retained by Mr. Chong during his federal trial in Pittsburgh. "I thought here would be a client, a high-visibility client, presumably with the means to finance a defense, and it could be a fun case to try," he says. "It's an offensive prosecution. I don't understand the thinking behind bringing this kind of prosecution. Who benefits?" Despite Levenson's enthusiasm, he never got to mount a defense. "We were limited by Tommy's desire to shield his son and his wife from any criminal prosecution, so his instructions to us were, 'See if you can cut a deal for me to plead guilty so they will let my son and my wife alone.'" ------------- http://www.alternet.org/story/17609 selective law enforcement sucks, they pass more laws than anyone could ever enforce or follow so they can get you if they want to no matter what.
that is why you move to canada my friend. bravo for Tommy Chong, just how many people do you think wouldve done what he did?
im not really sure, but i think he was selling out of his house, and they knew about it, so in the govt's eyes they were selling them too
that makes a little more sense, but i didnt know tommy was the one blowing the pieces, i thought he was jsut running the business
Canada? They have CENSORSHIP. They'd kill this site if they could. A welfare state with censorship- a great place to go!
almost never. we have slanted media, but its not the governments fault. they aren't doing anything to it, its the media industry's fault.
Right, right, blame it all on the media. That whole Federal Communications Commission thing must be the media's fault too.
I'll look it up later, but their is a government-sponsored corporation in Atlanta that screens and approves much of the media in the U.S. .... I'll get back with info later.
I forget where I read it but didn't Tommy make some negative remarks about marijuana after being sentenced? I think it was something to the effect of marijuana can screw up lives????? I know Snoop Dog did.
"I forget where I read it but didn't Tommy make some negative remarks about marijuana after being sentenced? I think it was something to the effect of marijuana can screw up lives????? I know Snoop Dog did." Yeah I remember reading that too. I believe he even said he used to have a 'drug problem' until he quit smoking. However, judging by his recent tv spots (such as the documentary Play goes to Pot on CBC Newsworld) he's had a big wide change of heart. I suppose he was going for some kind of good behaviour thing? I figure he's getting increasingly resentful of being imprisoned by now though. 'I'm moving back to Canada. Save a toke for me!'
They probably just told Chong to say stuff like that as part of some plea bargain... they've done that with drug-convicted celebs since Ken Kesey.
well its true, it can screw up lives, if your weak willed and use it to solve all your problems, and have no self controll. But i think the fact that hes lived to be 65 and is so cool and pretty witty some times, shows that with a little controll it can be alright. And im pretty sure he didnt quit, i mean when they arested him he has a LOT of pot in his house "When first asked if there were any pot on the property, Chong allegedly replied, 'Of course; I'm Tommy Chong.'"
Try this one: The candian gov irradiates pot seeds in the mail. And there weed is no better; they just can't get regs.
tommy chong is such a big role model for every1. and australia has the best weed by the way, western australia
