I dunno man As I havent been to Amsterdam yet.. but around here where I live we can get some pretty dank stuff... it will set you on your ass after a blunt... more of a sleepy stoney high. real intense heavy eyed herb =)
From my California perspective the best Amsterdam grass is the equal to what is available at San Francisco medical marijuana clubs but at a slightly lower cost and of course there's vastly more varieties available in de Dam. I think most of the cannabis genetics works in recent years is mostly a West Coast phenom especially from Northern California and British Columbia.
I keep having this disscusion with a mate. Every now and then I score some weed in the UK, sit there and absolutely convinced it's a million times stronger than anything I can get in A'dam. Don't get me wrong I love A'dam and I'll keep going every year as always but I just can't help being a little suspicious of the quality that they sell. I have never been able to get that seriously strong marijuana there, the stuff that knocks you for six with only a pea size worth in a joint that lasts for hours and hours. But when I'm in A'dam the grass there is OK but it's the stuff where you can keep smoking it all night, even pure, but I can't get that toasted on it, know what I mean.? It's also a little suspect that on the whole you can't get any other lager on draught there apart from Heineken. Is the whole lager/grass thing more controlled than I think in central Amsterdam.? Stella Artois is the most popular lager in most of Europe but you can't get it in any of the central based pubs. I really do think there is some control going on, but I'll still keep going there no matter what, perhaps I'll take my own grass, how ironic is that.?
I am in agreement, this last batch I got is the shit. This is much stonger than some of the grass from Adam. I swear, 2 nice tokes, Im a vegetable for about 4 hrs, fuckin amazing. I CRANK up the music, hard trance of course and im floating for hrs, I love it. I m in South Fla, everything I get here is actually equal to some of Adam stuff but this time, OFF THE CHARTS MAN. Your in the UK right? 1 OR 2 DAYS in Nov Im planning taking off some where from Adam and take a day trip, hows the Weather there in Nov. I know Im going to Belgium for the day, bought new digital camera, must take lots of pictures this trip. peace
Hey mikeymike Man, I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought this about A'dam grass. I've always had my suspicions about it for many, many years but kept shrugging it off as it seems ridiculous. A place where you can buy all sorts of grass but truth has it, not high quality. They probably ''shake'' the stuff too much, well thats my theory and very controlled. I think the really best grade A stuff is there, but in very small amounts and you have to be in the right place at the right time, no different from where I live. Every now and then when I score in the UK it can be knockout stuff, it seems you know exactly what I'm talking about here, yourself. But sadly it can be different stuff from one month to the next which is annoying, I can't get a regular supply sadly of this top notch grass, we all have to wait for that ''certain batch'' to be cured for everyone, but when it's ready it goes within days, whoever is growing it and meanwhile everyone has to put up with whatever is about, ie, Amsterdam equivalent stuff. I totally agree with you, 1 joint, even half a joint, I'm flying my ass off, even better with a bit of loud trance with friends about, nothing beats it. LOL Have a good trip to A'dam, damn I'm not there until mid Feb 06 and if all goes to plan Queensday too but Feb is already booked and deffinite. Now i'm off out to party for the weekend. Woo-Hoo
that's not the only 'myth' about about amsterdam that will be shattered beyond all recognition after you've been there for any considerable amount of time. there is a lot more than just weed that is highly regulated and kept in the realms of 'dutch only, no foreigneres allowed'.
while on my 1 visit(with plans for more soon)i smoked alot of very good bud.... some not so good...... about 90% of the marijuana i bought in different shops i can get here in michigan...... i preferd the large slection that was available to me...but all-in-all the "top quality" bud was kinda hard to come by the "availabilty" of bud was great.... no hassels at all.... i realy dig that.... one thing that i cant get around here is very good REAL hash.... that will be one of my main reasons to return to the mecca....as for my opinon......free pot gets u higher!!! it may be just in my head but i think u get more stoned from a free joint than one u bought yourself.....i is kinda stoned at the moment the only way to know if your getting "high-quality" marijuana is to grow it yourself or know someone that does........ i read somewhere the some of the very best marijuana/hash never makes it in to the coffie shops of amsterdam...it's smoked by the growers and there friends and that most of the bud that does make it in to the shops has been "shaken" so much 4 hash that the quality of the smoke is greatly diminished
Super Silver Haze, Grey Berry, Yellow Cab, Sticky Fingers, AK47, NYCD, just to name a few. If you're getting better weed then these in the UK, DUDE, I am coming there for holiday from now on. Where do I come and how many pounds do I bring? Come on you guys cant be serious? If you know your weed you should never end up with crap in A-dam. Take your time and shop. I am positive you will found more and better if you will look. I get great weed at home too, but not the variety and certainly not stronger. Strong is not always best. Sometimes subtle highs are very nice too. That's the difference. If you want to get higher, smoke more, or go to the ice hash. SP
Well FL has some great stuff........... I have fond memories of "florida crypto or florida crypt" it smelled like oranges and looked similar to haze. Total sativa high and a great price. As of lately the NYC area pushes "haze" from florida and while it seems like it haze, it also reminds me of the "crypto" Any input on this mikeymike?
Dutch weed grown from dutch seeds anywhere in the world is just as good as dutch weed grown from dutch seeds in the netherlands..... Considering how easy it is to get seeds in the UK you should not be surprised by the quality of some smoke you find in the UK Nemisis
i wish i could be arsed growin my own weed. i bet that would be very fun, and rewarding. but wouldnt have a clue where to start. for now im quite happy to get it posted from the UK or to visit adam a few times a year.
I agree that the best stuff is probably dispersed between a clique group of growers in A'dam and the majority is probably shaken too much as well. Also, this is where I'm missing out as I don't do hash anymore these days, preferring the hit and buzz off grass instead. I suppose some of the grass I get in the UK is very delicately grown with love and care by private closset growers so on the whole it's going to be good and most importantly unshaken as opposed to mass produced from greenhouses in Switzerland that supply A'dam coffeeshops. I dunno, it's all interesting stuff and we keep having the same conversations about it all, whenever the grass is superb stuff in the UK we all agree that it's stronger and more cerebral than Amsterdam stuff. The only way I can describe it is the difference between a mellow pint of lager and a tiny shot of Whiskey, both get you tipsy and eventually drunk but the top stuff you use way less and it's a harder hit. Does that make sense, LOL A gram here lasts loads longer than a gram in A'dam, not always but when the top stuff is about it's intense, very strong and concentrated and the point I suppose I'm trying to reach here, is that you would think it would be the same in Amsterdam, but it's not. It's fairly controlled, shaken and produced in mass for profit turnover. There I've finished my ranting and thinking out loud. LOL, now where's my rolling papers.
Stuff now here is better than the crypt I got years ago. Very fruity aroma, crystals are abundant, I need to buy a microscope to check this shit out. Price is $50 for eighth-3grams about. Id match the stuff I have now against some Adam brands for sure. I also wanted to know how the Amsterdamaged show went back in April. I had a fuckin ticket reserved but you know, Adam has alot of things to offer. peace
I am from Amsterdam and i've been to London and I can tell you people that alot of shops in the center of Amsterdam sell weaker stuff so the tourists won't puke all over the place. If you go outside the tourist area's and by your weed where the locals by their stuff you will be stoned out of your mind.
i'd like to smoke ganja strong enough to make me puke.......but thats just me, as I have seen others suffer that fate
I can get stuff that compares to most 'Dam smoke, but only once have I been able to get stuff that superceded the best of the 'Dam! It was a Bubblegum/Northern Lights hybrid from a very reputable dealer. Best smoke ever! However, Amnesia and Grey Area regularly have strains that I am confident supercede most of the stuff in the UK and States - Grey Berry, Amnesia Haze (this knocked me on my ass for a good 6 hours!), Double Bubble (not the most potent, but the best high), etc.
I did have some mind blowing skunk in dam, top 44 and AK47 where the strongest we got, but they still didnt compare to some stuff I got here in the UK. I once got an 0z of white widow which was white all over, you couldnt see any green for all the crytals. Slightest touch and crystals where all over your fingers. That was some strong shit . The stuff in dam is certainly shaken, they collect all the thc and make some uber strong hash with it, which the public wont get to see. Im assuming if you know the right people and places you could get some uber strong weed/hash, but the average stoner in the UK isnt gonna know who to ask. As for weed that makes you puke, i havent had that in aaages, but if anyone has heard of rok-it or xterminator (2 smoking devices guarenteed to get you mashed) if you took a full hit of one of them with some AK in it, im sure that would accomplish the mission heh
