probably next is year is going to be the 40th year of the great Woodstock .we guys really missed Woodstock b cos we are not born at that time so we need to celebrate 40th year in such a way that we lay seed for the next great gathering for this i request all the 1969 hippies to advice us to make it possible and carry on the light.

Meh....I've been labeled a "hippy" many times, I take no offence, I just wouldn't really consider myself a hippy. I mean...I have dreadlocks (personal choice, not really anything to do with fashion), I try to live as close to a natural lifestyle as I can (it can be hard, depending on what's available/limitations due to surroundings). All for one love, love ragga etc...etc...it's just that I look at the 60's/early 70's and sure it was probably as a whole a better time, more friendly/loving people, but hey guess what....that generation is the one that was supposidly going to change our country for the better and they just so happen to be the generation that is in power now....looks like other than tripping in fields, smoking pot (I smoke, so no offence meant) and making attempts at changing things they didn't really do much...Granted I still thinks it's much more than what the current generation is doing/will do and I admire that generation for just that...but still.....

I don't think there were more friendly people back then, and I don't think it's a good plan to create another woodstock. It will always dissapoint people since they romanticised the shit out of the first one.

I think the basic idea was not for the same fest but really something in honor of that fest or if possible the same fest

I have no purpose of honouring it myself. Same fest isn't possible, and that was my point, too many people would expect it to be.

rather than sitting and saying it is impossible why dont we do something to this beautiful world hippies r not just pot heads listening to music.hippies r wonderful people who care about the nature and world all you people who want to make a change r hippies by heart .y r u comparing woodstock always think in such a way that our efforts can bring a gathering which would stand in history as woodstock did.world war 2 is horrifying than world war 1 so y cant we have a woodstock 2 powerful than older one.we are all connected via internet and mobile and have a better communication than 1969 and still saying it is impossible shows our lack brotherhood and concern about world

Wow what great logic you have right there. I have better things to do, like shove a knife up my ass and rotate it then listen to your nonsense... good day

Well, I'm not saying we can't have a music fest that's more powerful as woodstock, I've been to music fests I don't think I could have felt better vibes and have more fun on Woodstock. :)
I'm just saying if you call it Woodstock 2 or always comparing it to a romanticised fest most of us haven't attended you most likely will be dissapointed because it will be very different.

Yea theres no point at recreating the past, theres allready plenty of music festivals with "hippies" Everyone needs to realize this isn't the 60's, there are no more hippies, you can still have their ideals and beliefs, but we need something new. The Hippie generation didn't work, and never will considering how old hippies are now.

Listen the 60's was not the answer but it showed the possibilites. Why shouldnt we try to get people together in a peaceful place and enjoy so good music? To say it cant be done is stupid. It starts with you and me spreading the ideals of peace and love. I for one am not giving up bc people say it cant be done. As long as im alive their will be atlease a one person peace movement. I want to get something like a peace march world wide.
