Last night me and a friend was in the chill out room of his basement, very baked. We were talking about what if while we were sitting there talking, our future selves walked in the door and sat down with us, and how it would be so fucking weird. LIke what if in the future we went back in time to when we were sitting there and talked to ourselves, and because of that we would see our future selves now. And like what if when we left that room we were sitting on the couch(in the future) or what if when we walked out of the room we walked into the future and it was a huge jungle there and everyone else were living on a nother planet. That is something to think about.

If you go back in time you couldnt change anything, it would be impossible. Something would happen to prevent that. Because if you went to the past to change like a murder, and it was changed then a paradox would be made where you wouldnt have made the time machine because nobody would have been killed so you wouldnt have made the trip in the first place. You can only observe without interfering in anything. Like you could go to woodstock and just chill with everyone, but u would have to act like you was from that era.
It is definately somethign to think about. But how scary would it be to see your future self now, like walking around. Sometimes I imagine what if im driving down the road and see my self pass me and wave, and its me in the future, or me in the past. Ive seen a car that was exactly like me and I thought Iw as in it there, it was weird as hell.

This thread can be used for weird ideas and stories that came up while stoned, or about Time Travel. Since it has to do with getting stoned.

Generic Stoner Discussion #146b: Which is more plausible, traveling forward or backward in time?

    Generic Stoner Discussion?

I think traveling in the future is more plausible, sealing your body off in some sort of thing so it will stay alive but not age. Like suspended animation.

But if there was a maching that could travel fast enough and bend space/time in the opposite direction, and go back in time, you never know, or just some sort of natural rip in the fabric itself take u back in time.

i see it like this: if you somehow went back in time, you could do whatever you want. your future self might be different or nonexistant, but the fact would be that you physically went back in time, once your there, your there, the future is a completely new one to be shaped and to shape. like if you went back in time, the whole future, for you, that youve already lived, would be meaningless, youd be back in time and doing everything in a world that never knew that youd gone back in time. time is merely a dimension that we move through at relative speeds (to everything else). if you go back in time, you being a conglomerate of matter, youve physically moved back through a dimension. with this model time travel is theoretically sound with regards to the paradox.

however, i dont think physically travelling through time is real. I dont think we as humans understand waht time is, we only have a perception of what it appears to be. it is most likely an untravellable dimension. we can manipulate three dimensions physically. time is not a physically interactable dimension and so i dont think time travel is possible with physical means, which is our domain.

as mentioned, i think we could make the illusion of travelling forward in time however simply by suspending matter and preserving it precisely until one wished to turn it on, so to speak, in the future, giving the illusion to the object that time was travelled (faster than normal).

but physically travelling through time? until time can be concieved as a physical domain, i see it impossible.

just like travelling at the speed of light.

we are not boundless in our abilities.

in order to travel the speed of light (the speed of electromagnetic radiation) we'd need to either have infinite energy, or be energy.

If time/space can't be 'bent,' how do you explain the Mobius Strip? If you make one, you'll see that it only has ONE SIDE by putting the tip of a pencil on the paper and drawing a line which will join itself. There are other examples, but that's a pretty simple one that we can all do at home! lol

Oh! And you might not want to leave the Mobius Strip lying about if you're planning to do any heavy-duty partying... (Yep ~ the voice of experience... Been there ~ Done that ~ i SWEAR they gave me a T-Shirt, but i just can't seem to find it... ROFL!!!)

All i know is i would never want to go back in time.... yea... i've made mistakes in my life but hey... its got me where i am today.... i'm pretty happy with my life the way it is right now... could be a few improvements... but they'll come in time.... traveling into the future.... i deffinately dont want to see.... im already affraid of what this world is gonna turn into... let alone wanna actually see it first hand.... yea... you can think "well.. if we go into the future we can see how things are gonna be and we can go back in time to change things for the better to help earth or whatever".... but that makes life not feel like life any more.... lifes an adventure... we dont know whats gonna happen next... its like reading a book that hasnt been finished yet... and then someone decides to go "hey this is how it ends"... and i dont want that

I would never try to change anything. I would just like to go back and observe. Like the egyptians or something. Or the Native Americans. It would be really cool to watch.

I would definately go back in time if I could. Sure I'm okay with my life right now, but if I could go back in time I could be GREAT with my life right now...I definately would have started smoking earlier!! There's to many opportunities I missed, there's a lot I would change...And if I knew all about the future it would be fucking hilarious to mess with people.

we made a mobius strip in the first day of my grade 9 science class. im pretty sure my teacher had like a hardcore interest in the unknown and conspiracies and stuff. like how people diddnt really land on the moon and the search for extra terrestrial life. by the way, whats everyones feeling's on aliens? haha ... i duno ive always been interested in that stuff, anything to give us more knowledge on the nature of reality.

oh. if anyones interested in things relating to paradox's and the nature of conciousness and reality... i duno, all that crazy stuff. check out this website.

Though i do not have any formal information or education on the subject of time, from my experience and perceptions, i believe that time does not exist.
i believe we all live in a never ending "moment". the only thing that changes is age.
all living things develop and evolve with age in a continuous/infinite domain. all non-living things are developed and deteriorated with age also.
the universe is infinite. the matter in the universe is infinite. the life of living matter on the other hand is not infinite, which creates age in living things. non-living mater on the other hand has only perceived age. it can be gaged on age of the matters composition, because matter as a whole, always has and will continue to exist.

so in my opinion time does not exist, it is in my mind replaced by age which governs both tangible and non-tangible, and living and non- living things. time travel is imposable. the calender was created by man. your physical body can not transcend "time" and "date", to appear in another "era".

Whoa dude i would never go back in time. If you did... how do you know youre going back to the right time. I mean you could be going back and end up in an alternate past. Then when you tried to come back you might be in a different present. Then you would be lost in time! With infinite possibilities to where you actually came from. You would never make it back! AHHH shit that scares me. It would be like in those tv shows where you go back in time, then step on a bug and come back and all humans have hands coming out of their heads or something..... Shit i am tooo stoned for this
