the original rush for the elmos was started by bryant gumbel on the today show or some shit because he squeezed it and just about pissed his pants from laughing when it giggled. people went nuts for it after that.
tickle me elmo was actually a furry red piece of shit made in china. every kid wanted one so they could be cool.
I remember a story where someone in the factory actually had elmo say "fuck me" instead of "hug me", it was a big deal, because some mother got a hold of it for her son, and noticed right away that it wasnt saying hug me at all, but something else she didnt want her child to hear. that was during the whole elmo craze, around the late 90s sometime. it was a big deal then, it was on the news, or 60 minutes, or something.
