I just got me a copy of the new Sinead Oconnor reggae album, im really impressed, its a cover album of some great burning spear, peter tosh, bob marley, buju banton among others. I really like it, you guys should check it out, she did a really good job, im unfamiliar with her other work though.
Yeah, Throw Down Your Arms is a really great album ... I got it a few months ago and listen to it constanty ... I love reggae, and her voice is incredible. Together it's just pure magic!
i heard the album too. just once though. i have to say i like the originals better (Burning Spear's version of Throw down your arms is just amazing ).. a good effort though.. it's nice to see some of the pop artists going in the right direction - away from the slackness and the gun-lyrics.. just like Barry Brown said: "..we want roots and culture... ...no more slackness to stay.."
