I've never been one to get sick very often, and when I would get sick in the past, it would go away within a day or two. The past six months though have been awful!

Since going back to school in August for my senior year if high school, I've gotten minor colds and sinus infections close to a dozen times, and around Halloween I had a terrible infection in my tonsils. I was stuck at home for over a week, and I was in more pain than I have ever been in before because by the time I got to the doctor and was on antibiotics, it ached from my entire head, into my jaws, and down into my sohulders from the spreading infection. There was a nasty runny ulcer on my right tonsil that drained enough pus down my throat that I stayed sick to my stomach the entire time too. Overall, it was the sickest I can EVER remember being.

Now I'm getting another sore throat and it looks like I'm about to get another spot on my tonsils. What in the world is making me get so sick, so often recently? I realize that stress and lack of sleep are supposed to be hard on a person's immune system, but could it change a person from being minorly sick once or twice a year to being miserable multiple times a month? Also, do you know of anything to give my immune system a boost? Thanks for any help!

I've been having that problem too. I've had strep throat recently and now I have what the doctor says is pharyngitis and I'm on antibiotics even though it's most likely viral and not bacterial. I've been in horrible pain for over a week now.

It came on within a day. One night I went to bed with a tiny hint of a sore throat on one side, and the next morning I was in excruciating pain with swollen tonsils. They seem to be getting worse despite the antibiotics and I wonder when I'm going to get better.

I wish I could help you, but just in case it helps, you're not alone. I'm thinking that since people automatically go to get antibiotics when they're sick, it makes viruses and bacteria both more resistant and powerful, therefore harder to get rid of. Take in a lot of Vitamin C and liquids.

Stress can weaken the immune system and cause illnesses to come about quite often.

I'd suggest seeing a doctor and taking a good multivitamin. I used to get similar illnesses and found out they were viral infections. That and I'm having big issues with allergies now...so it could be either of those for you, too.

    Good luck!

Mainly Throat problems are due to the dust and pollution or due to dirty environment.

This can be avoid through keeping the surrounding clean and neat and wearing the scarf is preferable at time of going out.
