Hey, I have this small bump in my throat, and it hurts everytime I swallow, like a standard sore throat, but its been like this for days now. It is behind my back teeth about a half an inch or so. Its just one, and its really small, but its bothering the hell out of me, and I can't figure out what it is! I've never gotten anything like this before. Any idea what it could be??? ...and by the way, I've never done anything sex-wise, so it has nothing to do with anything like that.
I was thinking about that....but I remember strep throat hurting a lot more than this does. Its not a really bad pain, more of an annoyance really...
could be mild strep I just finished a mild case of strep... irritating, kept me away from work one day, but not terribly serious. Swallowing hurt, felt like there was a huge lump in the back of my throat constantly best to see a doc about it, see what htey say. Mine wasn't bad enough for them to give me any antibiotics over, but mayve you have something different/more serious
lots of viral infections cause those pus pockets in the throat, not just streptococcus. sometimes the predominant symptoms with strep are headache and or stomach ache, and fever. The only way to tell is to have your throat swabbed.
also it could simply be raw, perhaps from post nasal drip. I get that more often than I care to remember.
if you have strep you can see white coverigng the back of your throat.... take a look if you see it thats what it is.... i get strep all the time! at least twice a year.... and it sucks.... bad!!
could be an abcess where your tonsils use to be , they will fill up with food an be kinda sore/tender
Get it checked out. For the time being, maybe gargle some salt water to kill bacteria or prevent spreading. Mmmm salt water.
I guess it wasn't anything serious, becuase it FINALLY went away. It took a hell of a long time though. That was the strangest sore throat I've ever had....
