So lately I have found myself adopting the philosophy that I am thriving on every challenge I meet. Everyday I am finding new opportunities that challenge myself in whatever context it may be, and although it make make me nervous, I ALWAYS come out improved. So anyways, today I went to help the chef and manager at my restaurant cater to a hospital benefit and fashion show. We had a table set up and were serving mac n cheese w/ duck confit hors d'oeuvres. It was a BLAST. I was MEANT to schmooze. Definitely. All sorts of guests at the benefit, most older and well off, eccentric, even. Fire chief and firemen <3. I was drinking amazing cocktails and having the BEST time once I go started. Fabulous job.
. . . and some people view life as one big challenge/opportunity after another. The first half isn't important because you're part of the second group.
Perfectionism could be a problem, IMO. Cate: Congrats! Challenges don't necessarily need to be big all the time. Budget them. Baby steps. And you'll come out ahead of the people who put too much pressure on themselves. My two cents. P.S. Nice thread.
