I found myself writing this as a response to another thread, and decided to just start my own instead! What is three things that you would like others to know about you? I see alot of the same names here in the Hippies community, and it feels great knowing we can share ideas! I respect you all so much. Here are mine, to start off... 1. One of my favourite passtimes is looking at/listening to/being with trees. Soaking in their vibrant colours, graceful motions, scent, sounds, presence. I LOVE trees and vow to always be surrounded by them in my life. Oh, and I have been known to hug one from time to time. 2. I am a sucker for the Earth. Travelling her miles is a passion of mine, and is the source of inspiration that I cannot even describe. I love to be on the road, dirty and scruffy, seeing what I can see with a few things on my back and a whole lot of love in my heart. I love to see people, places, this planet is just so darn beautiful! Have any of you ever stopped to look at how beautiful it is? I just want to see it all!!! It's a priority of mine, so I will try my hardest. 3. I love conversation. (haha, who doesn't right? ) I really enjoy discussing gardening (yea, yea i know: gardening forum) and often do so with my parents. We do our gardening together whenever I can be at home long enough to be a part and I have learned so very much from them. Another thing I love discussing is my reasons for vegetarianism. The more I discuss and share my personal veggie journey, the stronger my own convictions are, and the more I can accept and love those who choose lifestyles that are different than my own. I hope you are all having fabulous moments in life! Much love and peace energy your way. - Unlearn
Cool Thread! I heartily understand loving trees, and Gaea! I have a huge tree with fabulous karma in my back yard. 1. I LOVE to dance. I love to spin, sway, swing-dance, jig, line-dance, anything (even a little hip-hop now and then). Anything that has a good beat. I think dancing is a connection to another time and place, it lets us be free for a moment, and think that our movements are the most graceful, most elegant, and we dance without restraint. 2. I have much love for most things in life. Much, much love. I love to make people smile. I hardly get cross or engage in drama. It's so easy to find good things in life, why focus on the bad stuff. Life is a garden, dig it! Don't spend your time wallowing in the mud, ya know? 3. I think that music is one of the greatest things this world has to offer. So many ways to dig into it, so many ways to help express and define yourself! So many good trips. Grace Slick is my favorite musician, I love her so much so that I can't describe it. Not being biased, the hippie's music was the most beautiful music, with the best messages of freedom and love. Who could not turn on, tune in, and drop out? Cool!
This seems like a fun thread. Well, what I have to share is nothing exciting and/or interesting, but I shall still share: 1.) I care deeply about animals. Ever since I was little, I have had respect for animals and treat them as though they are my children. I am slightly annoyed when people insist that animal-lovers show no concern for humans, for I care about all animals, and that includes humans. 2.) I constantly find myself, and my interests, changing. One day I will be into a hobby, and the next day I will be into something completely different. This does not mean I cannot finish what I start, but it does mean I am never a one-dimensional person. 3.) I am quite a shy person, but there are exceptions. When I greatly admire someone, I will talk more than usual and attempt to keep conversations going. Others see myself as a loner, which I am not denying, but there are certain people I am just drawn to.
1. Being Wiccan brings you very close to nature. It opens up whole new doors that many other religons can't seem to get through. It allows you to be open minded and accept that others are different. Everyone should take time to at least understand Wicca if not practice! It's about love and trust and understanding..... not about Satan! 2. Sitting at home in your pajamas all day is amazing. IMO it is true comfort and mediation time. 3. In the 2008 election I'm voting for whoever is the most open minded. Someone who America has never been able to "experience". We need a change desperately. If the person I vote for ends up failing America... at least I can say that I tried to make a difference and choose someone who at the time I thought would be good for our country.
Nice thread. 1) I'm a very quiet, shy, nervous person. It takes awhile for a person to get to know me because I'm so quiet. 2) The perfect day, to me, is a day where it's snowing lightly with about 20 degree (F) weather and a slight breeze. On days like that I often go outside and read and take photos. It's beautiful, and thankfully it happens often where I live. 3) I'm very content with just doing nothing. Most of the people I know at school and whatnot always have to be doing something exciting, but I'm so content with just sitting in my house or sitting outside of my house and just doing nothing. It's relaxing. I love it.
1. I get these little bursts of happiness at random times and sometimes i can smile for no reason at all. 2. Music is definately the one thing in my life that has kept me on this earth. If it weren't for music, I probably wouldn't be here today. 3. I love it when i see people take a stand for something they believe in, it makes me more than happy. If I think the same thing as you, i'll stand right next to you, fighting for what we believe in. It's the most important thing in the world.
1. I'm In love with the Beatles. They...just keep me going. Every day, I wake up, and I can't leave the house without listening to a Beatles song. And same with right before I go to bed, I can't fall asleep without hearing a Beatles song. They are everything to me, especially John. One day, I'll get to meet him. And let him know how much he means to me. 2. I'm very anti war. And I can't stand it when people say they are anti war, but then turn around and say "I hate people who are pro war". I just don't understand how you can be anti war, and hate at the same time. Doesn't make sense to me. Hate is what makes war. 3. I love pizza with green olives on it. It's soooooo good.
this is a cool thread ok well 1. Ever since I was in the 7th grade, 13 years old, I have kept notebooks upon notebooks filled with my ideas and poetry. Looking back on all of it I can remember everything exactly the way it was, but I must say that until i turned 15, my poetry was very very very bad. These notebooks are my most prized posession and one day I want to be a writer. 2. My religious beliefs are probley my most strong. I follow both zen biddhist and rastafari beliefs, an even mix of both, and I strongly disbelief in being a christian. I wa raised 100% catholic and have always disagreed with what the sunday school teachers and clergy men taught me. i will NEVER EVER EVER tell you your religious beliefs are wrong. EVER. 3. this part is going to be very hard to explain, but ever since i fell in love with this boy, he has been slowly changing me. not in bad ways though, in good ways. in very good ways. its weird. ive barely ever spoken to him, but i just feel some kind of energy pushing me into this direction. i dont know maybe im crazy.
1. I raised five daughters, and they are all loving, sweet girls ages 28-23-21-18-16. We have had a very unique living situation. Our oldest daughter has a partner, a small home business (ceramic paraphenalia), and a very huge house, and all the younger sisters moved in with her to live and work at about age 12-13, so we have never lived with any of our children during their teen years. We somehow avoided all the teen-parent rebellion issues. They are all our good friends now, and they still live and work together as a productive team. All the sisters are happy, and mentally healthy young adults. This seems bizarre, yet things turned out awesome. 2. I love to make things with my hands. Arts and crafts and creativity really draw me into the present moment, absorb all of my attention, and make me feel very good. I love to crochet, sew, and make magazine collages. 3. I have lived in intentional community (aka communes) for 30 years. I have never had much money coming in (last job working scheduled hours with weekly paycheck was 1975), so living with others inexpensively has been a necessary and fun experience. I just love alternative housing and simplicity. :hurray: Oh Happy Day !!!!
1 i'm in costant love-hate relationship with myself 2 i'm into random thinking and people who choose it 3 i have very good intuition
1. I totally agree with neponiatka on her number one...seeing as i'm going through the love-hate thing too. 2. I love the feeling of grass and sand on my skin 3. I love my dad more than this world will ever know. when he goes i'll be absolutely lost, no more playing guitar with him, no more hating tom petty with him, no more telling him to stop pulling my hair, no more bob dylan concerts with him...no more anything. i'll be so lost. I love him so much.
