Sweeeeet video footage of what we have become. http://www.ktvb.com/video/index.html?nvid=195337 This was at 1am.
that would make a great ad for Buy Nothing Day. i've been to that mall, and it's scary on a normal day. couldn't get me near the place...or any other shopping center...on the day after thanksgiving.
Whoa, I saw some people getting strangled getting through those doors by their scarves. Soooo fucking sad.
These people have no clue what's in store for them. It's only a matter of time before their money becomes completely worthless and they won't even be able to afford their cheap crap from China.
sad?? if you asked me id say the terrorists ,,(um goverment) missed a great opportunity to cleanse the gene pool as well as frighten the sheep that wernt at the mall.. stupid fuckin people.. the one idiot who says someone should be there to help.. HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO,, they are the fucking greedy pieces of shit charging the door.. if they wernt so fucking materialistic and greedy they wouldnt have been in that mess.. you reap what you sow.... to bad there wasnt a huge gas explosion...
id be willing to bet if there was a attack there, many of those uninjured would ignore the catastrophe and keep running for there prized merchandise on sale...
couldnt you see the outrage that they couldnt purchase there merchandise because there was a attack on the other side of the mall...
The start of a Joyous Holiday Season, how much of the stuff they bought is going to end up in the landfills, or yard sales by summer?
Yeah, that's pretty horrible. Both of those videos are really sad. People like this in society are compared to flocks of sheep, but this is much worse. Pushing, yelling, shoving, running, all to buy something.
hrm i got bored watching that video clip ive been in worse crowd surges at gigs like rage against the machine and those people were not even shoving other ppl out of the way for a great bargain it was so they could get "closer" to their idols. People are generally selfish and im sure everybody on this forum has that side to them. You all talk about how much you hate consumers yet you all sit here on a computer, something that you would not be able to have in your house if it was not for consumers so go figure!. I think you all need to get over your self and judging the rest of society caus they are so greedy and shit. Sure you people dont like all the needless crap these people buy, but isnt that their choice? Alot of people here dont like being told how to live life yet alot of you seem to think its alright how to tell others to live their life, that right there is the biggest hypocritical thing ever! Also to say things like "I wish a big gas explosion went off there" is immature and lame some of you need to grow up and take a good hard look at the things you say
While I don't disagree with you billy, as the OP I should point out that there is a difference between being a consumer and being in a consumer frenzy. There is no reason we should stop consuming. Only we should be reflecting on responsible consumption and not the glorification of gluttony and overconsumption. Which is what I wanted this thread to focus on. I can't take responsibility for the comments or actions of others. I only question where this all comes from.
