Thoughts on cocaine

I would recommend staying away from blow. You said you experimented, you are lucky enough not to like it to the extreme that you fein for more... quit while you are ahead. You can save a lot of money and stress by avoiding cocaine.

 

theguitarman - If you keep doing coke how you are doing it you will be fine, thats how it should be done on special occasions when going out with friends. Thats the only way I will do it now. If someone blows lines ounce or twice a month they should be fine. The thing with blow is you have to learn ounce its done and gone thats it and to only do it ounce in a while ! Don't keep going and getting more and more and calling your dealer every few hours,don't start doing it every weekend or do it just to do it becasue you are bored.When someone crosses those lines thats where users get in trouble and its starts becoming a habbit. After that its not to long before its a addcition and you are doing it daily. Coke is a drug that should be respected. The problem is people feel great on coke and feel so confident when they are on coke like a million bucks and they love that high and then in return want to feel like that as much as they can this is when a problem will happen. The user gets courage and charisma like they never had and in return they want that feeling all the time so they start using it all the time. Its a very very easy drug to fall in love with quick. Its not much of a high compard to other drugs its not sapose to be its not the high users like thats gets them addicted its the way it makes the user feel about themselfs and confidence they get when on it !!!!! When done right coke is just fine. But alot of people can't do it right !!!!! As soon as a person starts to think about the high and day dreams about it or they start using it every weekend this is when a person should stop its not to long after those things that addiction will start.

 

I got into coke for about three months, but I could never really say that I liked it. I guess part of it was like when some people say they're attracted to weed because it's taboo and illegal and wild, etc., coke to me was, as you said, sorta classy and cool. It was kinda like joining a club; a new tier of people more in touch with underground workings.

I can def. see how it would attract ppl since it makes them feel energetic and confident. And I think that's exactly why I didn't stick with it. I'm normally very confident and assertive (but not overbearing), so the surge in those feelings with coke was extraneous to me.

I never needed help feeling invincible, but sometimes I needed help with wanting to socialize, and that's why my stimulant-type drug of choice will always be E.

 

Definatley not exclusive to yourself, infact thats pretty much the attitude the vast majority of people have the first time they do coke. No one ever thinks its as good as it's been made out to be, partly because there is so much hype around the stuff and partly because most people don't take enough or high enough quality stuff their first time.

As for not seeing the addiction potential after one use....well thats to be expected, it's an acquired taste, the more often you take it the more and more you begin to enjoy it. 90% of people after thier first time using will not be able to understand how some people get so hooked on the stuff. Come back to that person after their 10th or 20th time using it and the majority of them will have a different attitude.

Your post is a pretty typical reaction to a first time use and I've heard pretty similar words time after time from people after they first used coke who ended up complete fucking fineds for the stuff after a year or two.

Now don't get me wrong, most people that do coke will never become addicted to it if they excercise a little self control. i'm just saying its very common to be underwhelmed with the stuff in the begining and thats where the danger lies for some people, Charly can be a sneaky little white bastard if you don't keep your eye on him or you underestimate him.

 

once i get some money i'm gonna try coke for the first time. i'll probably give my dealer $20 to go find some. i don't think i'll get addicted tho. i've done opiates and never got addicted to those. the only drug i'm addicted to is marijuana and i intend to keep it that way.

All this is true. But...

Cocaine is toxic to the Dopamine system and is extremely addictive/overpriced. I used to love coke when i first started doing it. Then two months later i sol everything i owned and was a full blown cokehead. So, i stopped for a while, only doing a line here or there. Last year I hit rock bottom though, bought at least a gram EVERYDAY for like six months. Went on some serious benders and did insane quantites ecah day. My friend had a savings bond which accumulated to 7 grand when he turned 18 and we did an ounce in a week between the two of us. It got to the point where it just got redundant. Coke is so one dimensional, i just got tired of doing it...plus the comedown is HELL for me. I've watched so many friends loose everything from coke, which then led to them smoking crack...now they just arn't the same people, even after abstinence. Every month or two ill do a couple lines with my friends when im drunk, other than that i don't touch it. I love cocaine conversation thoug, its the drugs brightest perk IMO. If it lasted longer and was much cheaper...and easier to come down from...and healthier for the mind...i might like it more, but none of those hold true sooo...coke is a joke. +

 

My friend from Florida used to get flame coke that was slightly tinged yellow for 45 a gram. So 20 could get you an ok amount to get you high for a couple hours in parts of the country, if you know the right people.

 

if im going to be wired... i would much rather take some lsd, mdma, e, 2c-i, 2c-b, or mescaline and feelgood/see shit while im wired and be able to take things in from a new perspective and learn from it than to be a coked out looney that thinks she looks cute.. im sorry ive tried coke it was okay but not my thing and in my opinion everyone else i saw on it didn't look classy in the least bit.

 

In regards to how it is addictive: It causes the short term imbalance of dopamine after you crash. Coke works in concurrence to dopamine receptors in the same way that an SSRI works on serotonin. It prevents dopamine reuptake. When you crash dopamine levels are depleted for a short period but regenerates very quickly, so your brain wants more of the drug to rebalance the irregular dopamine levels. If you don't fiend out a little bit after the immediate effects wear off than you've probably never done really good stuff, or you havent done that much in one sitting. Maybe you have, i cant really say; i dont know you. I just dont understamd how you dont feel the need for more, even a tiny bit. In my experience, that's a universal feeling that most people think in regards to coke. It's one of those drugs that takes over you're temperance quickly and easily.


To the above post...i totally agree. I could spend 80 dolars for a gram (maine prices) or get a ten strip...hmmm decisions decisions...

 

I would definitely have to give props to the things the course of this forum. I used to be really into coke myself, and i had a very similar experience the first time that i had tried it. I was like, "whatever, this stuff is okay and it's not addicting to me. I barely even like it." But after a while, a couple years mind you, I was doing it almost everyday, living through hellish comedowns. Nose hurting, head and body aching. I will tell you that addiction to this drug is a slippery slope. Pretty soon you're slip sliding away and you don't even know it until all of your money's gone, you're trying to hustle some more coke and your friends are al looking at you like you're a crackhead.

 

This is ridiculous. If you're not addicted to blow, do some more. if you think you aren't addicted, try to say no when there's a bunch of it bein offered to you for free. If you think coke is energetic, do more. if you think it's positive... keep doin it. if you think coke is classy, try living the life. if you think YOU have control... the coke already fuckin got you.

and if you think cannabis screws up the way you percieve REALITY... you probably did too much blow

 

Classy my ass. Closer to trashy. Weed is way more of a positive drug. Pot heads don't rob people when they run out.

ya cokes fun if you can control it. I was doing it everyday for a while too, even smoking crack when the dealer didnt have coke left. now I jus cut back n do it once in a while when I have spare money. as long as its real good coke lol. I hate the crappy sped out powder everybodys gettin it today. If i aint gettin it in a chunk n gives me a super good high then I wont get it.

 

i think cocaine is just expensive, short duration and a waste of time and money.

amphetamine or MDMA is more my cup of tea

 

i like coke a lot its a nice buzz but id go with those that said E will do the trick plus it lasts longer the only thing about coke that id prefer is the comedown its way smoother and nicer

 

just stay away from it.
