Hi from New Zealand! Both my two sons aged 3 and 5 love being barefoot, in fact they have never had shoes on their feet! Im a 100% barefooting mum, and have been for about 4 years, I simply find I have no need at all to put anything on my feet except toe rings! My eldest boy is now at school and most of the children there are barefoot, summer and winter, we shop in barefeet, they both play in the neighbourhood barefoot. I love being seen in public as their mum in barefeet, there is a neat sense of bonding which is really hard to explain, but I know many other barefoot mums feel the same way.:sunny:
Drat! I grew up in the wrong place and time! All kids should be able to grow up barefoot like yours do... :2thumbsup: Wiggling bare toes, ~*Ganesha*~
Hi again from New Zealand, Just thought I'd follow up my last post about my barefoot children, now its summer they live in barefeet which I think is great! I let them play anywhere they want in the neighbourhood, often they end up in other neighbours yards or in their houses playing, sometimes they tread their dirt in which can be a bit bloody embarrassing, and I have to giggle a bit! My bf owns a car wrecking business, and he likes to do some car wrecking privately at home so at the moment we have four fucking cars on our front lawn gradually being dismantled = much to the neighbours disgust! But the kids love jumping all over the cars and helping the bf pull them apart...really keeps the feet strong and they look where they are walking! My MIL hates they way I bring my boys up and wants them in shoes all the fucking time, even bought them a pair for their birthdays...I put the staight in the fucking rubbish bin!
Wow! Am really starting to think I live in the wrong country!! I am into my cars and although not in the trade I tend to collect the old "rubbish" cars that no one else wants. It's a hobby and I just get a kick out of keeping something running that should've been scrapped years ago. So my front lawn is covered in cars too....though I have only ever broken one. I am always barefoot when doing any work on the cars and don't give a damn about health and safety. If I spill oil etc I love to step in it and get my feet well black. Does your bf go barefoot too?
Yes he is a bit of a barefooter, when it suits him. He certainly has no problem with me being barefoot, in fact doesnt really come up in the conversation much, its just my natural fashion, which he accepts. Certainly he is not embarrassed in any way, but again that may be a New Zealand thing, its just accepted and people move on with their lives without the drama or the analysis that seems to go on elsewhere. His mother is the real bitch about it all, plus the way we bring up our children - we just cant agree on anything, and my bf has been caught in the middle, but obviously sides with me!
