i'll second this. i can't count how many times i've had idiots assume i was gay, because of my one thing i'll call myself prejudiced against, and that is bigotry. i don't think people doing this really care about any actual definition of gay. they just think this is a way to marginalize anyone who recognizes the actual immorality of bigotry. which probably stems form their own religious prejudice, which in turn doesn't really come from what any religion actually says, which they don't care about either, as long as they can use it as an excuse. now i will say i think gay people are cool for a lot of reasons, not the least of which being, their not contributing to over population. i just don't happen to be attracted/turned on, that way. i would wear "gay" as a badge of pride if i were, but i'm still not. i will though, wear "not quite human" as a badge of pride, and that i've been accused of also. and the thing about that is, i LIKE the idea of being thought of as not quite human. as do rather a lot of people, many of whom call themselves furry. which is a very open and accepting community, which encouraged openly gay, the whole "lgbt" whatever you want to call it, before much of the rest of society began doing so. and of course still does. so a lot of non-furrys and non-gays make the assumption that furry = gay/lgbt. which, well for the reason already stated there are on average more non-straights in furry, then in the mundane world generally. well great. if there's one thing there's too many of in today's world, its people who love bullies, if there's one thing there's not, its too many non-gays who are willing to be proud to stand up against prejudices of all kinds. and of these, i am proud to number myself among.
Who assumed that? My first thought about those against bigotry isn't that they're homosexuals. In fact I applaud them if they are actually fighting against real bigotry and not something that was simply labeled bigotry.
