http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080905/ap_en_ot/cvn_gop_fashion this fucking outfit was $313,100!!! thats just outrageous! i could live on that for YEARS! they are sooo far out of touch with the common people.. just pisses me off.
Plus its not 'the' government it is 'your' government, so i am holding you VERY partially responsible!!! (humour intended) I didn't click the link because unless the clothing is made out $313,000 worth of diamonds or precious metals then i dont need to! i agree!
That's disgusting. And these are the people who think they're in touch with the common person? She's just some brainwashed snot who never had to work a day in her life.
it pisses me off because i've had to fight california just for health care. i know i (or my entire family) do not cost the usa government $300,000 worth of medical expenses a year... but an outfit that i'm sure will only be worn ONCE is okay for them to buy? it's just rediculas ... makes me sad... thousand of people could have been feed.. or sheltered or clothed.. or had health care instead of that damn outfit.
i'm with you on this, boog. and it looks like 'black-jackie' isn't doing that much better. i'd say $900 for a dress is a bit unnecessary. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/08/fashion/08michelle.html
What is really sad is you can find knock offs of those exact styles for a fraction of the price that are still high quality.
my entire wardrobe cost a whopping 40 dollars maybe. i'm still running for president in 2012... and i'm not gonna buy expensive crap i don't need. more money for the people that need it less for the mega rich that don't.
actually, the article said that she was recycling accessories; i'd like to think she would do the same with an $300000 outfit... although i agree that it's fucking retarded. if anything, it just demonstrates that these people have absolutely NO sense of what to prioritize when making a budget (something quite important for a presidential platform). my favorite lines from the article: "In the way of clothes don't matter, the message would read she's more focused on the issues and that's totally admirable," Iglehart said. "On the other hand I think it's a sign of confidence to be at ease with your body and confident in how you dress."- i think it's a little sad if you need to spend 300 grand to feel confident and at ease with your body "Because the potential first ladies have such different styles, it makes it fun to follow"
people with money are ridiculous. I hope one day I'm filthy rich, and still wearin my $13 dollar dress I bought on a clearance rack.
Its ridiculous. But isnt she spending her own money? God help us if mccain wins. And question, why do you say you had to fight california for "just" healthcare like you are entitled to government care?
Like I said. Clothes that look exactly like those can be bought for about $300. Which is still more then I would spend but much better.
nah, my desire to be filthy rich is just so I can travel and not have to worry... get a cute little studio apt in nyc, and just spend my money exploring this is just a dream though, ya know
that isn't even "RICH" by the standards of the super rich elite. That is well off enough to do as you please... and those are reasonable things and I want that too. I think everyone does.
