I lived in Middlebury, VT, and there was a hill nearby that I think was called champlain hill. Something like that. One day, my grandparents were over, and my grandfather said "I'm going to go for a walk up the hill, do you want to come?" I said I did, but I had to clean my room first. I ran up and threw the Calvin and Hobbes books on the shelf, and out the window, I saw him walking down the street. I hurried up with the room, and left. I ran after him, not too fast, enjoying the things a little kid does, like walking on those walls in people front yards and stuff. I got to the bottom of the hill, and saw him way ahead of me on the path, and I yelled for him to wait, and he turned, smiled, and waved, and kept walking. I kept running, and the path was curvey, and I saw him again through the trees, and yelled again, and he did the same thing: Turned, smiled, waved, and kept walking. I took a side path that I always took cause it was a really steep hill and fun to climb, and I saw him again when I got back on the path, and yelled again, and once again he did the same thing. I followed a little more, and then turned around and started crying. I cried all the way home, passing a family on the street that I had passed on the way there, and I was really embarrassed, but kept crying 'cause my own grandfather wouldn't wait for me. I got home, and he was there, and I yelled at him. I said "why didn't you wait for me?" And he said "what are you talking about, I've been here the whole time."

There's no way he could've gotten back before me from where I turned around, and I still don't know what happened that day.

Weird... I seem to remember something just like that happening when I was on a bike ride with my dad when I was six or seven.

You were little. Maybe it wasn't him. I dunno. Sounds pretty strange, but his reaction sounds like that of a stranger if some kid just started yelling at him.

There are so many dimensions over and under lapping our own. It could have possibly been a time warp, or a teasing spirit.

How old were you? When I was five I though some other guy was my grandfather, I really sure that I was him, I was walking to school and I though he was dropping off some other kid. I kept trying to talk to him but he seemed really confused and did said he wasn't my grandfather. That made me cry, but later I realised that it wasn't him, just some old guy who looked like him and had a similar car. My grandfather is also a very unique character. So maybe it was some other old guy. Besides, from a distance through the trees you don't get a reall good look at somebody.

Stuff like that used to happen to me when I was little, too. I remember sleeping over my grandmother's house.. we were sleeping next to each other and I acutally felt her wake up and then I followed what I thought was her. I followed her around the house in dark and I asked her to wait for me because I was afraid of the dark and she wouldn't wake. That wasn't like her at all. Then she stopped and I went to go grab her arm and it went right through her.. like all along I had been chasing her shadow or something. I went back to bed and noticed she has never her bed.

And another time I was in my backyard at night playing with my little brother. He didn't want to be outside because he doesn't like the dark and I didn't want to be alone because I was scared. So, we were playing tag and running around the old tree in the yard. I could see my brother chasing me and then I'd turn around to chase him. When I got tired, I stopped and leaned against the tree. I looked for my brother.. he wasn't there. I could see him inside the house watching tv

    weirdness, man.
