i have a little orange tabby cat, named Mischief, we found outside one day and couldn't ignore. we've had her about a year, and she's just a really small, skinny kitty. she's really playful, loves to do parkour around the house. anyway, i packed a bowl, lit a candle, and went on the computer. when i lit the candle, mischief was really interested for some reason. she watched me put it on my dresser, and slowly approached it. i have candles around all the time, i dunno why suddenly THIS TIME it was so interesting. anyway, so started playing with the flame. she held her paw to the warm glass of the candle, and slowly put her paw towards the flame. i'm on my bed, watching, telling her she's gonna get burned, but cats don't listen obviously, they're cats. she kept jumping back and bouncing on it. i'm glad she didn't burn herself throughout this, but i couldn't stop her, watching this little kitty learn like this was wonderful ehehhehe sorry, stoned rant. soup time. :daisy:
Once when I cleaned the oven I didn't know my cat had climbed in the broiler. We turned on the oven to make Pizza and I heard a muffled yowl. I opened the broiler and he dashed out only slightly burned. We ended up not eating the Pizza. I did not even have the excuse of being stoned. I swear it was almost more traumatic for us. For months after my son and I checked for cats every time we used the oven. the cat was fine. We were sure glad he didn't get cooked. He was a cool cat the 9 years we had him.
Off topic but I miss the 6 cats I lost in the house fire last December. None of them actually burned, they just passed out from the smoke... Each one was in a very special spot in the house where they felt safe. R.I.P. my babies. Spooky made it out some how and I got Erin the crow out safely... They are fine.
I am super cautious if I burn a candle with the cats around. I had a cat step over or around a votive and catch the hair on his side on fire.
I accidentally dropped a joint on my friend's cat once. It was just contently sitting on my lap and somehow my stoned ass just dropped the j right on her. She was one of those almost white, real fluffy furred cats, and I was scared I'd left a scorch mark on her. Nothing visible, though. Luckily, my friend was just as baked as me, and didn't notice a thing, even though he was sitting right next to me.
my cat and i pass a spliff with catnip and weed in it every morning. he insists on putting in from his stash..
i just thought of something lamely funny to me: my cat is in heat, thats why she was so interested in the flame and my cat is HOWLING right now ridiculous
She was conducting an experiment and usually at those young ages they realize something for the first time, something they'll never forget! Dont'cha just love watching the light bulb of enlightenment get turned on in a kitten or puppy - it's especially heart warming with children tho Side Note: My dog is in heat as well, she is rubbing her swollen bloody pooch-pocket on the couch - and worse she want to go outside every other minute, I think she's barking "FREE LUNCH BOYS, COME'N GET IT!" Btw, Doggie Menstruation would be a good punk rock band name lol....stoner thoughts :/
Cats in heat stay cleaner than dogs. I've never seen any discharge with the cats. But OMG, the caterwauling!
Yeah, I'm not sure which one is worse, the noise or the mess. I don't have a kitty but I have a funny doggie story. My dog always hated it if you blew smoke on her. She would hide her head under the covers or under the couch every time I tried. So a few weeks ago she came up and ate a gram of hash I left sitting on the coffee table. Now every time we smoke she comes and plops right in the middle and growls until someone blows her a shotgun. My doggy turned into stoner dog I was so pissed about that hash though!
Thor used to follow the pipe around the room hoping everybody would blow smoke in his ear... He was so cute.
We had a 19 yr old italian greyhound and our vet was afraid to put her under bc of her age so he would have us give her a gram of hash when he needed to work on her....
Koa was so mellow with his vet in California... She worked on him once on the floor in the waiting room with no meds. He had a foxtail stuck in his penis. (A foxtail is a grass seed that is sharp and is barbed, it goes in but won't come out) That had to hurt, he just laid there and trusted she was doing a good thing.
my cat runs away from the smoke, but she loves being stoned. i think animals have an instinctive reaction to run away from things burning though, so i feel bad when i blow it at her sometimes. although i have plenty of friends with stoner puppies! what a cute puppy!!!! what?! how did that get in there?!!?
My favorite cat who died recently, use to get high with the neighbors. My ex husband use to blow pot smoke at him and he would just sit there and inhale. The cat was more of a fur person than a cat. He had more friends in this neighborhood than I do. Plus he used the toilet without being trained. I am still grieving his death.
my friend has a dog, she's such a person, its insane. she thinks about things, i can't believe it. she knows what will get her in trouble. actually yesterday, she was here. my kitty was being silly, and the dog, roxanne, was visibly restraining herself from attacking my cat. what a nice dog! she moved herself as to move the distraction from her eyeline as well.
