Someone on 'telly recently very saliently pointing out the following opinion he had. That as it so traspires, in the end ie. now, 80's music actually sounds a lot better than we thought it did at the time. It's funny I think that how, in the 80's, I loved 80's music, but in the 90's I though it was just so cheesy and crap and I was so happy that music in the 90's was better. But now, in this 21st century decade I think 80's music just sound so good, and 90's music now sounds really cheesey in retro.... For example: Now: Crystal Castles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1svPxH2MbI&feature=related https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXkQFjRcjC4 The Presets https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ufW2INWmM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTSYQkyknK0&feature=user Ladyhawke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1HDZNR9cY4
I was too young to remember all of the 80's tunes. Which is probably why I'm partial to 90's music. My parents never listened to 80's music much at all since it was a busy time for them, having kids and starting a career and all. Well it's ok if you missed it then, it's kinda happening again. I think the 80's is like the 60's of the 80's. I think it's the same thing going on... only we didn't noticed because no-one in the 60's was going on about how good the 40's were, were they?
culture is aging into a place where the 80's are more acceptable, as in due course, in 10 years, 90's will be more acceptable if you hadn't noticed 00's are sort of a slightly better 80's redux (instead of white leather everywhere, black leather everywhere, simplistic elegance, just, a better iteration of it, a better thought out, less coked out version of it)
Yeah, thank God. New music tends to have a bit of that 80's feel to it lately which is so much better than that good 2-3 years of all new music being put out as EMO.
Emo is schmemo, I'm so glad we are out of the Brit pop things also, it gives bands more breathing space I think.
I saw Steve Miller and Joe Cocker up at Woodstock about a month ago, It was raining and muddy yet awesome!
I payed $25 to stand out in the rain, I wouldn't pay $100 for any concert. It was good but not epic, CSNY 2006 tour was better.
