i need some advice from someone who hashad dreads for awhile now. i wastold by friends and dreadhead's Q and A's to use the clockwise rubbing method. well i did and now it feels as if my locks stopped growing in thick and the roots are thin. wil they grow in eventually or not?
i dont bother doing that method myself personally. If my roots are that bad i stick a wooly hat on or tam on for a few days that usually fixes it Id recomend tampering with them as little as possible and patience.
patients and let time are all i have. i am just looking to help them along a litte. i have had them for about 8 months now. if i spray my head with dreadhead's locking accelerator and let the sun dry my head, will that help? also what can i use to help my scalp from drying? is there a better solution then dreadheads's locking accelerator? i read people using rock sea salt and lemon juice or just rock sea salt and a 5 gallon bucket. if i go that route with the 5 gallon bucket can i still use the dreadhead shampoo? that stuff really tightens my dreads, but it leaves them sooooo dry. what can i use to help the dryness? by the way wax sucks! i used dreadhead's wax for probably the first two to three months, then ralized that all it did was make my head look like a bunch of shinny candle sticks, not to mention it was sooooo hard to wash out of my locks. is there safe product out there to use to help?
last year a few of my locks got real phat at the ends, but roots looked like they were almsot gonna fall out, well i left em alone, and now the roots are real thick, and they are thicker than the dread itself.
Yeah, stay away from wax as much as possible.. I'd say only if they're REALLY dry and fuzzy, use a tiny bit. I haven't used any wax on mine for at least 5 months, and they're chillin'. And I just rub my head with a sweater, yeah, clockwise rubbing method.. *shrug* It works fine for me. Finally, don't bother buying that shampoo. It's a waste of money. Sure, it cleans your hair. But so does regular shampoo. *shrug*
