Thinking of getting a clit hood piercing

I'm thinking of getting a horizontal clitoral hood piercing. I've never gotten anything but ears before and a small tat and I'm kinda scared. I have a couple of questions for anyone that has a genital piercing:

- Do I have to shave my pubic hair?
- How long do I have to wait before running?
- Does it bleed a lot?

That's all I can think of for now. Any insight would help. Thanks!

 

I'm so glad you posted this...I was about to post one...I was thinking of the same thing and wanted to know all the things you did but also wondered how long you wate before sex, a friend told me there was no wait time but I would think the area would have to heal first....

And how easy would it be to have it ripped out...the skin looks pretty thin...

1. It depends.. I'm shaved all the time, so there was no problem for me when I was pierced, but you might want to shave.

2. That would probably be up to you, you would probably want to wait until you weren't so sore. I know that for me, I was able to do my regular routine the day after I had mine pierced. (I have a vertical hood piercing, not a horizontal though.)

3. I only bled a little bit the first day. I wore a pad, and everything was fine.

I was also pierced at a 12ga, and I've never heard of anyone tearing that piercing, but you never know. It would probably have to be pierced very shallowly to rip. The skin may look thin, but pierced correctly, it's very strong.

I just really want it and was worried it would end in massive pain...

mine didnt bleed at all and i as for shaving, i wouldnt think its a must but it may help the piercer see things better? i was shaved already but you could always call and ask. i was told no oral and no intercourse for a while...this was over 6 years ago so i cant remember the specifics but i know i didnt wait that long and i never had any problems with mine. mine was a vertical hood. im glad i did it when i was 18 and a little more carefree because now i wouldnt have balls to let a guy pierce me there but i love the piercing.

 

i had one. I shaved some of the time.. but not shaving had no effect. I didn't bleed.

You can't have sex within hours. You are swollen and sore. I was told to wait 6 weeks for it to heal, but i didn't. I had sex after a couple weeks, just avoided any clitoral touching. You REALLY don't want an infection.

I don't know about running, but I was back skating pretty much right away. Although I am rather large lipped, so the piercing itself was protected from excess rubbing. Go with what feels comfortable.

As for tearing? Yeah.. mine tore. Not all the way out or through... but it did tear a bit. I was wearing a skirt, and I jumped on my boyfriends back... he wasn't ready to catch me, so I sort of slid down his back and caught my piercing on his belt. I screamed, he grabbed me. I bled then, a bit.. but I did get infected. I fought of the infection, and had the piercing for another 6 years before finally taking it out.

Also... tongue studs and clit hoops don't go well together. I found the metal on metal clang to be unpleasant, and once well... it just sounds like an urban myth. Needless to say, we got ourselves apart, and after that he removed his tongue stud.

 

I just want to clarify that you want your clit pierced and not your hood. Piercing your actual clit can have a lot more complications, such as it is possible to damage your nerves(that cause sexual sensation) and make it harder to climax... however if it is pierced correctly and let to heal it can also be the most enjoyable piercing. Your hood is above your clit and this can also be just as AWESOME with less chance of compications.


p.s piercing your clit will obviously be a lot more painful than your hood.

Well to clairfy...not getting the clit pierced...just the hood right above it....Ive heard nothing but good things though...I think im gonna go for it with my x-mas money

Hood piercings hardly hurt. It's like getting your ear pierced as far as pain when for me. It's worth the [minimal] pain for the extra pleasure you'll get from sex.

I have got my hood pierced vertically, It stung like hell for a few seconds but the pain didnt last, I was fine to get up, walk around etc. I didnt bleed at all either. I had a female artist do mine, I just felt more comftable stripping off and exposing myself, but I wasnt too embarressed, after having 2 kids you kind of lose all your diginty lol.
I shave anyway so that wasnt an issue, but if you dont shave then I think it would be a good idea just for hygeine reasons and to make it easier to check for infecctions etc.
I was quite sore and swollen for about 2 weeks after I had it done, not terrible pain, just a bit uncomftable. I found warm salt baths really helped. I had sex after 3 weeks, but it took almost 2 months before I was healed enough to let my hubby really go at it rubbing my clit.
I found the ring with a ball better for stimulation rather than the bar, but thats just personal choice. I really love my hood ring, I think its so pretty and very effective. I have been thinking about getting my clit done but am a bit chicken, I would hate for something to go wrong!

The point of pubic hair is to prevent infection by catching wayward bits of things so they can't get through and into the sensitive area. Removing the hair would make it more prone to infection, as far as I can see.
