been thinking about it for awhile now. don't know if it's going to be possible since they are over two years old. i didn't want to put this in one of the dready sections because they'd want me to keep them. seems just a lot of bad negative things have happened in the last two years and i want it all to be permanently in the past. maybe it's odd, but it really does feel like my hair is holding onto a lot of that stuff. i also really miss having a clean scalp.. i try my hardest to wash and keep it as clean as possible.. but it still feel icky some what. things are changing and it's time for change.
If you want to do it, you should do it.. If you miss it, you could always grow them back, ya' know...
wow, your really going through a transformation. alot of changes. good for you! *sending positive energy*
I like your dreads- but DO IT! You might have to cut your hair really short. It could be a huge step for you - just to FEEL like you are letting go of two yrs of symbolic ,perhaps negative,growth....or you could just have a short new hair cut
A Change..(new image) Can Be Good.. I Have Been Growing My Hair Longer Now, With The Intention Of Going To Dreads. However There Always Seems To Be An Underlying Social Stigma To Them.. I Have Now Decided To Have Some Of It,Braided.. Just A Matter Of It Getting A Bit Longer, As Some Of The Length Is Lost The Braiding Process. Cheers Glen.
thank you! and exactly, it is JUST hair.. i have had all sorts of hair styles from buzz cuts to waist length hair in the past. i LOVE my dreads... but they're just not right anymore.
ive went through big changes and just walk into the bathroom and chop all of my hair off. its a great feeling of relief.
I have found that hair is strongly tied to how I feel, and the times Ive been through. I was dying for a change of pace in September, and went dark. and it's helped. I supposrt your decision to change your hair up, and basically clarify.
it's been 2 long years that i've had dreads... and yeah yeah yeah.. someones gonna say something stupid like "dreads are a life long commitment" .. and so is a puppy but the SPCA sure does a lot of business... i wanna do it right now.. start right now.. but this day.. this week.. this month has been so long already... i just want it done yesterday.
my hairs been every color of the rainbow and some shades in between. dying hair is always great. i always felt all sexy and fun afterward.
yeah, i dont think theres a color i havent tried.... except black. but as you can tell by my pics, im VERY pale.
i've dyed mine all black once.. it's not an easy color to pull off. i'm sure i was in my "gothest" stage then... i used to get called "gothic hippy" all the time. i did dye it bright red on top and black underneath... people at work kept asking me if i had joined a goth band or something... dorks!
The Best Dreads I Have Ever Seen.. Were On A Guy About 25, Two Or So Weeks Ago.. They Were What Would Be Best Described, As Thin Dreads. His Hair Was Medium Blonde, And Had Very Light Patches.. He Was Dressed In Smart Casual Clothes.. Looked Good... Cheers Glen.
Can you comb dreads out? I just figured people just shaved there head. Me, I cut my hair every 7 years or so. I love it long but I sure am glad to take it down to 1/4 inch.
i believe its gonna be pretty hard to comb them out, maybe u just need to cut them if you are really sure about it.
Good for you! Let go of the old patterns and move forward fresh and new. Lots of people get rid of their dreadies when they go through transformations
