Do any of you have a particular item that is made extremely well? I have a few and I am always on the lookout for more. I have a copper cup that was made in Turkey. I will most likely never need to replace this item and that's a comforting thought. I have an excellent knife made by Buck and the same thought comes to mind, I will most likely never need to replace that item. There are a few more things that I could add to this list... However, I'm here to hear about your excellent things, not mine. Things take up quite a bit of our life, but few of them are really worth mentioning.

Yes I have several things that are made well.

One of my most prized possessions is an ax forged in sweden. Its designed and made so well. Made by a company called Gransfors.

I have several metalworking tools that are made well. Many made in Switzerland, Germany and America.

Then I have things I made that are very nice.. hammers, and perhaps my favorite thing I've made is a bending fork that I forged on a power hammer out of a piece of spring steel.

I have some functional objects d'art that I've made. I also have a set of plates that my friend who does clay made.

A solid silver flute sounds like an excellent thing. I imagine if you're going to build an instrument out of a precious metal then you're probably going to do it very well. So you've got that going for you. Also if things were to ever get dicey you have the intrinsic value of the silver sitting there in an innocuous item. Just exactly the sort of thing I was wondering about. I don't know how to play a flute so it's not for me, nonetheless seems like an excellent thing.

it can be used in metalworking equally for artistic or practical purpose. say for instance you are holding a bar in a vice, you put the bending fork on the end sticking out, and pull on it to bend it. pretty simple.

I Really Don't Know Where To Start, When It Comes To Tools

Even As A Broke Teenager I Tried To Buy Quality Brand Names,

Some That Come To Mind Are My "Stablia" Spirit Level Which Has Been

Dropped On Concrete Many Times, And My Set Of "Sidchrome" Tools, All Of

Which Were Purchased In The Mid 60s...:).

But Perhaps My "Best Built" Purchase Was My "Mercedes", Cars Don't

    Come Any Better Than That...:).

    Cheers Glen.

i've had to move too many times to hang on to them. most tend to be somewhat heavy and bulky. even things that are/were, designed for durability, have not always been best designed for usefulness.
