At one time in our past, African-American men were deemed not qualified to fly military (or civil) aircraft. It was thought that they lacked the intelligence and the abilities to fly aircraft, engage in warfare by air, and, also, to repair said aircraft. How foolish, ignorant, and blatantly racist! These brave and daring men risked their lives for a country which, largely, did not think them equal to white men. The oft-forgotten Tuskegee Airmen are true and proud American heroes in every sense of the word; many of these brave men flew many more missions than their white counterparts. Think of the resilience of these brave airmen as they not only battled the enemies of our country, but also, the many injustices of racism and prejudice. True American heroes, for certain!
