The Zeitgeist movie challenges the beliefs of Christianity. According to some, Christianity is actually another extension of a long running myth concerning the sun god and astrological symbolism. Watch for free. Almost 2 hours long. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5547481422995115331 Website: http://zeitgeistmovie.com/ Discuss. x
It is likely correct in many of it's assumptions but this applies to all the old Bibles, not just Christianity. Most Bibles are OK unless you read them literally. If some here are fundamentals then they have no clue to the real message of scripture. Those like us will enlighten them if they can chill through the lesson. Regards DL
Xenon We can question the validity of the facts in the movie Zeitgeist. It said Buddha was born of a Virgin, and that's where I was completely lost, because he was not. Horus, the Egyptian Sun G-d, was also not born of a Virgin and had 4 siblings (If I remember correctly). However, the similarities between the various Sun G-d's are undeniable. It can make one wonder if their religion is real, or just some fairy tale that has been made up. A myth is just a religion that lost faith. Look back thousands of years ago, how the Greeks believed in Athena and Zeus and such. We view it as a strange and agree that it makes no sense. To find these traits, look no further than Christianity. I especially liked the 3rd part of the movie. The 1st was most enlightening, and the 2nd part I basically recited all the facts they stated by memory. I can thank countless hours of research on WTC 9/11 for that one.
It's deja vue all over again! There's a whole thread on the Zeitgeist movie that was going strong about a month ago (See panel 4, by naturefreak). I and others presented lengthy explanations of why we think at least the first part is a bunch of crap. Check it out!
